While I do admit that alone in the dark's most appealing feature is its innovative inventory management and creative items (sticky explosive bottles will beat the hoards of guns and ammo found in most xbox games these days), the combat in this video is damn impractical. the crawly-things enemies are just weaklings that can be shot down with a few bullets, not sticky flares and bombs and blood packs. and combat with the human enemies? fucking impossible.

It wouldn't be a bad game at all if it weren't for the terrible controls. However, I played the PC version, and supposedly the control system was improved (due to numerous complaints from people like myself) on the PS3 version. So I would say go ahead and give the PS3 version a try if you have one. Otherwise, avoid this title. The immense frustration just isn't worth it.

You gotta admit, the lighting in that first bit was realistic- it could have been used more, but it was a nice idea at least. Same with the item combining- good idea, not so good execution. They should have made it so it required more outside-the-box item combos to progress through the game.
