Season's Greeting from Vancouver to you mairanya1 in the land down under I would presume. Merry Christmas to Anthony too, and I'll be playing his "O Holy Night" most often as we are now into the big event as I term it...most stores are closed now out of respect and outside it's about 45 f. and raining lightly. 2 yrs ago we were blessed with the whitest xmas ever with approx 2 ft. of snow covering most of greater Vancouver. I 've must of heard them all, but Anthony gave this prayer an extra kick, and I for one take notice. It dosen't take much, just a little more emphasis on a sentence, even a word can make it more meaningful/dynamic. Even the band palying in the background...what would it do to tale away the background vocalists that are heard on most pop songs, hey. Anyway this version scores 100, whereas others...anywhere from 93 to 98, now that's saying alot for Anthony & The Preayer.

Absolutely beautiful. This stunning version of The Prayer is by far the very best and most heavenly version I have ever heard. Anthony has the voice of an angel and every single note is flawless. It was a sublime performance at Carols and this song has always been since the very first time I heard Anthony sing it my favourite.

Their is nobody to compare to just how bueatifully this song was sung by Anthony.. Nobody and I mean Nobody can deliver this prayer like Anthony himself! No Mirah, no Lady Ga Ga & she rocks!, no Elton, no Cher and not even Celine Dion can't compare to this performance by Anthony. If this is a christmas carol, it can certainly be played anytime of the year, including friday evening. Anthony is just as bueatiful to watch as is listening to him sing this bueatiful prayer. Nobody, and I mean Nobody can sing this prayer. and I do mean Nobody!, can compare to Anthony when it comes to singing this masterpiece. I'm from the land up over, Canada the true white north. For me there never has or never will be a more beautiful song than Anthony singing The Prayer. After four years it still holds all its magic for me that it did from the first time I heard this outstanding unique powerful passionate performance from Anthony on Idol. Casey's still young so there's plenty of time for her and Anthony's doing fine. I hope you heard nim sing Ave Maria last night, his fifth year on Carols By Candlelight. He's done so much since this performance.

casey had the chance after idol to bring out some songs but she never did. Anthony didn't even win but he has taken the opportunity and used it well. And yes i saw him last night at carols by candlelight. he was sooo cute with his boyfriend singing together don't you think??

Yes, that first time. This was one of his first public appearances outside Australian Idol. The following year, after he'd done so much, he said 'Merry Christmas Australia'. It's a massive Melbourne audience, as well as being televised live.

It's a pleasure - thanks for commenting. It was a bit of a landmark performance as I hadn't seen him perform to a massive crowd in this sort of situation and it's such a difficult song, but he was excellent. He's since become a fixture at Carols, so I hope you can check out the later performances, especially my favourite, Oh Holy Night, from 2007.

Its been such a long time since Ive seen this perfomance. What a magical night and a magical performance. I was so happy that he was signed and The Prayer was released and shot straight to #1 for 5 weeks,I love Ray Martins intro. He did this so well this night and his voice was perfect, but 3 years on, the confidence he shows now is a truely seasoned artist.

Thank you Mairanya. I remember staying up and nervously waiting for Anthony to perform. It was after 11pm when he finally appeared and I remember breathing a sigh of relief when he nailed it as this was his first big outing since the Grand Final of Idol. Of course, I should never have worried in the first place as he is such a star.
