  • I think it's better than Enya...

  • ok i LOVE these girls, but this particular attempt i'm not satisfied with. When Enya sings this it's as if she is descending the song from heaven it self, her singing is ever SO angelic ! i think Celtic woman made this song a bit too "Pop" ish in this instance.

  • gave me goose bumps

  • This is to my ex... We never got a goodbye that should have been the right way it was all crap. Everyone around us controlled us... I enjoyed every single minute of our happiness and I know how your really upset and your not the only one.. I read your email over and over and over again and thinking this is the best way... I cant be that important if it ended the way it did.. Hope you see this I just can't bare the pain to talk to you this is the only way.

  • @charlieslilyflower

    Lol, awesome xD

  • I think she sings sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo good.

  • I love Enya...

  • her voice is so amazing! When I was little my parents played Enya all the time.

  • we did this song for our christmas play at school this year (christian school) and instead of mornie utulie, alante, we did kerie eleyzahn. i dont know how to spell it but it means lord have mercy. we sung like a profesional choir!! even with a buch of koreans just learning english! it was so awesome. we did the little drummer boy story. we also did awesome moves to for the love of money. luv the song!! yours, not for the love of money.

  • Everyone associates this song with Christianity, but I see it about hope in general.

A hope for the strength to make it through hardship...

A hope for a better day...

A hope for a new, brighter future...

Anything to get one through the hardest of times. It is their light in the darkness, and may it be there always.

  • @assassinAmber feel the same way too. excellent insight.

  • Isn't it morning ray?

  • i love this song im singing it for my junior cert :) wish me luck ..

  • Haven't listened to/sung this for ages :D so thank you for the words, but what's with the horse at the end? O.o :D

  • I believe this song is about the kingdom of god and the kingdom of darkness...darkness has come... ( the children of god aka the children of the promise) having the holy spirit living in them. I picked that up straight away...I have been born again of the spirit of god through Jesus Christ for almost 3 years now. :) I think this song is pretty neat!. those in Christ are not of this world and are far from home. :)

  • @Jacintalee24 That, is a beautiful thought. People need to think like you do. :)

  • @chocochipcutieX3 yeah it is :D :P thanks.

  • @Jacintalee24 Then why does it have the Elven language from J.R.R Tolkien's books?

  • fantastic

  • love this song

  • As if an angel is singing! Wonderful voice, I love it!

  • This is so indescribably beautiful, I think I might actually cry.

  • My mother used to sing me this song when i was little,I have found it now and my heart is all full with love and I have tears

  • it reminds me of my brother whos at war

    : ...(

  • this song reminds me of being back in Scotland :) and wayy back my family were Celtic and i can sing this

  • 9 people need to get a life this is the best song ever!

  • thumbs up if you broke the replay button!

  • this song has really helped me through tough times... i tend to freak out while studying, times get rough, and deadlines get closer. just listening to this song inspires me and pushes me to do my best. so um thanks for the upload yo!

  • the people who dislike this song have had to much loss that when they listen to this song they couldn't bare to like it

  • Thank you for sharing this song with me it was so calming and wonderful! =)

  • I'm so glad you madethis video, it helps me very much :)

  • wow...

  • This is inspiring.

When i listen to this song i forget that my dad hates me

    i forget that i'm alone

    i forget that i'm alive

    i forget that i don't matter enough

    i just forget

and sometimes . . . forgetting feels good

  • @BettyGirl120

transcendence. u go beyond it all. day night hot cold win lose happy sad fear bravery = meaningless

  • @Perihelion99

Thank you, It's not Everyday i get the feeling of meaning. I'm just not Normal sometimes and it feels good to hear somebody say to be myself.

  • @BettyGirl120 If you get down to it, no one is normal. Everyone has quirks that makes them different. Be proud of what makes you who you are, the good and the bad, no matter what people may say or think. Because those who matter don't mind, and those who mind don't matter. I lost quite a few "friends" and even a few family members in one particular area of my subnormalcy, and honestly, I don't regret it. I'm me, they can take it or leave it.

  • @TehZedaj

Thank you for sharing that with me, it just reminds me that others are out there who have the same problem as i, and that working together to get over them and feeling happyy about yourself makes the pain go away and we can grow stronger.

  • What a beautiful song, so uplifting...

  • Could you do "Concrete Angel" Martina Mcbride? Please?

  • nice video did a good job

  • I will never understand why such a beutiful song makes me so utterly depresed

  • BEAUTIFUL... However the " Mornie Alentie" part gets a lot fuzzy (Not enough words to go with that part of the song.) and "Darkness has fallen" does not correlate with the words of the singer. So we are forced to contrive something that although is incorrect will fit with the song. Like "Morning sun will fill you always." It seems to be an English song so why "MORNIE ALENTIE"?

  • @BRAVARION it is just elvish. it is a songtrack from lotr so it isn't that strange

  • @BRAVARION Whats fuzzy here? "Darkness has fallen" does fit as it is a translation of the words that are sung. If you don`t get it then I suggest that you read the Book "Lord of the Rings" and pay attention to a language called Sindarin and similar languages. Then, you can have your say again.

  • @BRAVARION fail

  • we are singing this with our choir :) it sounds lovely with harmonies :) love this song -3

  • @SuperEggieMeggie you should put it on here so we can hear it :D

  • I will never understand why this had made me cry ^^

  • there are really NO words for that song.. it's not a song it's so much more than this .. I really have to be strong stop crying during listening to it...

  • Your song, my friend, my divine Patricia... You came to me, few days after you left the temple of your body in the Spanair accident the 20th of August of 2008 in Madrid, flowing and celebrating the Light you found in Death, dancing with the pace of this glorious melody ♥ See you again in Rainbow ♥ :)))

  • I <3 celtic woman, lord of the rings and Enya, this song is perfect because it relates to all three :)

  • What is the language she is speaking? The mornie alantie thing?

  • @2010inuyasha according to Google translate it's arabic x

  • @2010inuyasha It's elvish, a made up language from Lord of the Rings.

  • @2010inuyasha It's not arabic, it's Elvish.

  • @litleflirt23 are you some nut lol it is Gaelic the irish language

  • darkness has come and darkness has fallen; were those sung in Elvish? If so, anyone know if it was Sindarin or Quenya?

  • @PennyXXSam

  • Oh my god great perfect omg great good voice speechless good thing great thing perfect

  • like a heavy rock upon one's heart :(

  • lord of the rings !!!

  • cooolll songgg its beautiful made me cry toooo

  • This song is hope and peace and freedom. It says that even though your alone, very far from home, and darkness has fallen you will rise and save all from the black around you.

  • To my mother, who I was closer to than any one, though my road is lonely and I'm so very far from home, I love you, you amazing and you'll be forever alive in my heart. I promise you.

  • Beautiful voice!

  • i am crying.such a good song.very pretty lyrics.

  • I love this song.......:)

  • I listened to this song in my room one night, and i kid you not, i had goosebumps all over my body and started crying. It's hard to explain, but i just felt like the lord above, was all around me. Actually i shouldn't say it "felt like" he was, HE WAS indeed......!!!

  • to me, this song isn't just about losing someone you love or, having someone there for you in a tough time,...

    its about hope,

    hope that things will change

that everything will be alright again

    and to me,

    that is true courage

    ~ yours forever and always,

    Stripesthekitty

  • @Stripesthekitty amen to that :)

  • @Stripesthekitty you forgot love.

  • I don't see much where people feel they lost someone if they passed away... I rather feel it's a happy song, waiting and hoping the person you care for will find their way back safely. Be it from illness or a long journey who knows where.

  • ....I don't think that it's all about being alone after loosing someone you love. I think it could also encourage a person to make it through a rough time in their life, to break through the shadow of doubt and enter the light of happiness and friendship.

Naturally, there's no way for any of us to say for sure, seeing as every song can be interpreted differently by different people. To me, this song represents the belief of a good friend in another. The promise to pull through.

  • I married my lovely Bride with this song. It was a traditional Scottish wedding.

  • my mom die last year

    the pain will never gone

  • a group sang this at my christmas choir concert! I was trying to figure out what they were saying..i know now! haha

  • I give you the light of Eärendil, our most beloved star. May it be a light for you in dark places, when all other lights go out.

    --Galadriel

  • I played this song at my moms funeral instead of a speach, it say all the right words. Sorry to make everybody crying.

  • May there be light when darkness is upon us. May we never forget to seek this light, on the darkest hour. May all of you who feel the pain of loss, be blessed with the light of the deep understanding of the true nature of things.

    happines to you all!!!!

  • this is SUCH a beautiful song!!!! celtic women have the prettiest voices i swear

imma huge fun of LOTR and this song was in it omg it made me cry

  • We are singing this song at our Chorus Christmas Concert. Don't know what it has to do with Christmas though ;)

  • Wow.. I'm sorry to hear what happened to your family... My condolence.. You are one brave person! I admire you're strength!

  • this song is soo touching and sad It made me cry

  • Could you get in touch with Celtic Woman?
  • 3 people have no perception of what music is...

  • This is a Love song. She is singing to her Guy. The Promise with in you is the Heart He Pledged to her. May it be as Darkness Falls your Heart will be true. His Pledge of his Heart to Her will be true. and as Darkness Falls Meaning when he Sleep's That he be true to her and not in bed with another woman. And Lastly. Believe and you will find your way Back to Her. This is Beyond Beautiful

  • @blackjackhp i really don't think that's what the song means... didn't Enya compose it for Lord of the Rings? It uses the language Tolkien invented as well.

  • @abysswolf48 yeah, i actually can see galandriel ( creepy she-elf who can read minds) singing this to frodo. to keep him going, you know?

  • @abysswolf48 You were so respectfull during your exchange I thought you should hear this. YouTube - "If I could be where you are" by Enya

  • @blackjackhp Thanks! It's a nice song =D

  • On January 19th of 2002, my mother passed away from Ovarian Cancer. I didn't get to say goodbye; but when I hear this everything is ok.

  • anyone know what language she speaks in the song? it sounds so beautiful when mixed with english =') I absolutly adore this song! I think it was used in the movie Titanic. Best movie in history I tell you =D

  • @yoyomiksta The language she speaks in the song is Elvish from J.R.R Tolkens Lord of the Rings. No this is not a joke haha. This song was used in the end credits of the first of the movies :)

  • @MrConnorPants

Close but not completely true. Elvish is a group of languages created by Tolkien. The particular Elvish language used in the song is Quenya also referred to as Elven Latin by Tolkien. While Sindarin is often referred to as Elven Tongue in The Lord of The Rings.

  • @2010zagadka I bow down to the Geek master here ;)

  • @MrConnorPants OMG XDDD I knew i reconized the song from somewhere!! I love the books and the movie!! XDDD That is so cool!!

  • As an atheist who tries to live a good life but gets harassed and threatened day after day and day, constantly, by Christians telling me of horrors after death that I will receive and deserve, this song soothes me in a way that is nearly spiritual. Love Enya, love Celtic Woman, and despite its warts and wrinkles, love humanity.

  • its raining now

i fell like i'm flying *.* while i hear this song

  • are they angels? no sound on earth is so sweet.

  • Impresionante lo bien cantado que esta

  • j'aime ce shanson bcp:)it's beautiful :)))

  • So moving...

  • A beautiful song and a very sad one. It made me cry. The thought of loosing someone so close and then being alone, as this song describes it, is unbearable.

  • @shtony2717 it made me cry too. i hate being alone.

  • @4diggers1 haha, who likes being alone? :)

  • @Flow3rFac3 Bees du ( *, ,*)

  • @4diggers1 I know what you mean. I've been alone for a long time. It is said that time heals all wounds.....that's not true sometimes. Sometimes a hurt is so deep or large that it ruins your heart. It's like glass, when you shatter a perfect glass and try to put it back together, you'll get something else that looks screwed up. When a heart breaks, if it heals back, it does so into a obscure form. Everyone tends to over look pain because they never had real pain.

  • @shtony2717 i know what you mean i went to a chrischen camp and after the serves everyone was so touched they cried incoloding me. knowing thair are people just like me made me feel so much beter. and we cried with each other for at least 2 hours.

  • @shtony2717 Dude I heard this song on my Mothers Funeral together with "My Heart Wil go on" so I know Exactly that Thought, and I was only 7 Man.......I hardly know how it is to have a Mother........take this advise to all of you, Be kind to your Mother, you only got 1 in the holl world : /

  • @tesster6969 i ment darkness

  • @krissypricesss9 Thanks. great song, beautifully sung.

  • Beautiful! ;(

  • ok I hope y'all know it's in latin. no elvish or whatever it's Latin

  • This song is on the LOTR: Fellowship of the Rings soundtrack and yes, for those die hard skeptics amongst us, the obviously non-English lyrics are most definitely in JRR Tolkien's Elvish, Quenya to be exact.

  • its soo beautifuul, brought me to tears. :'( btw this is livpeace99 mkenny91394 just refused to sign out :P

  • omg people its not Elvish!!!!!!!!

  • The song is nice, but I prefer the one sung by Enya.

  • At 2:07, the lyrics say "May it be be your journey on to light the day" instead of "May it be your journey on to light the day"

  • this is the song im walking down the isle to this Nov!

  • One of the greatest tracks from the greatest films of our time.

  • Tomorrow the rising sun will vanish the darkness of the night... just as it is in nature, so is it in our lives. What a beautiful melody...

  • Ååååå...en så nydelig sang s
