Regarding the video itself -- I am fine with predation in the wild, because predators have to eat. But I know from experience that house cats do not eat many of the things they kill. If you keep them well-fed, they have the hunting instinct still, but not the need to eat. So I would indeed advise rescuing their prey from them. However, since the mouse/rat in this video does not appear to be in real danger, I'm not going to judge the person who made the vid (unless he staged this).

I believe that there should be no such thing as "pest" animals, with the possible exception of parasites and the like. I had a mouse that moved into my chicken house once, stole the grain and stashed it in weird places -- I left him/her alone. I get so sick of people thinking it's okay to take away an animal's LIFE just because it's annoying. Even in cases where mice/rats spread disease, there are ways to deal with it without killing if you're creative enough.
