The Appleseed Cast can be considered emo, but they do apply some post-rock techinques to their tunes...if you like them, you should check out Joan of Arc. And, their lyrics are never about cutting yourself, listen to "Fishing the Sky", is an awesome song!

I must say that the appleseed cast does not sound like minus the bear. They are completely two different bands. Minus the bear is much more technical with guitar and effects while this is just a great indie band. Both bands are unbelievable though.
