pardon me a moment, but General Francisco Franco(1939-1976 rule) supported Atletico de Madrid and gave it to his Air Force which is why for a while it was named Atletico Aviacion. In the 1940s(Beginning of his rule) it wasn't Madrid winning titles, it was Barcelona. In the 1950's Franco gave Barcelona several Copa Del Reys and made Di Stefano go to Madrid to balance out the skill(Barcelona had another player.... Kubala maybe?) in the 1960s when Barcelona was in debt for the Camp Nou, Franco paid

for the camp nou. So Franco basically helped all Spanish teams, even if it was FC Barcelona, and hurt them as well(Real Madrid's staff members "disappeared" in the 1950s)

2004-2006 barca no injuries, best. 2006-2008 barca had many injuries, madrid had none. Now barca has few injuries while madrid has suffered many. I am a barca fan, but which team is best of madrid and barca is often decided by coincidence, like injuries and referees etc.

But they both play football so they do have something in common. ;)
