To: armouredpuppy - you noticed the dark sides of the place only because you meant to map and explore it you were there. regular hong kong people won't "party" in wahchai or stanley streets in midnight. like when you are here in vancouver it'll be ridiculous if you see no drug-shot people in downtown eastside at midnight. so stereotypical.
HK was great! I loved the place. I used to go there once a quarter. I'd party on the Wanchai District or go to Stanley Market. Ever go to the "Bottoms up" in Kowloon?
Didn't have that much time to explore Kowloon, too bad. But I'm going back, for sure. Spent just five days there in April, sort of passing through. What's the partying like?
It's been right before the Chinese take over in 1997. From what I understand, the Chinese were supposed to keep everything as it was under the British. They had alot of problems with street gangs and the Triads on my last visit.

I used to ride these between Kowloon & Hong Kong in the 80's.
