  • Adrians Solo Project was amazing, wish he'd still had this one active!

  • God bless hard'n'heavy-Back in the late 80,s there was no internet so to keep up with the ever changing metal landscape Metal fans would buy the video magazine Hard,n,Heavy-This clip was featured -Cheers!! for posting this piece of metal history-( yes i know this falls somewhere between rock and hard rock but Adrian Smith is a legend of heavy metal)

  • asap on mtv wow

  • best most underrated band ever.its not just music.its something magic.

  • Adrian Smith; everything he touches turns to silver and gold.

  • this isnt that good, im kinda disappointed tbh :/

  • Adrian Smith is my God!!!!!

  • i didnt no that he has a so great voicennow i admire him as a guitarist and a singer

  • mmmmmmmmmmmmullet!!!

  • Adrian just keeps writing great music. He's an awsome Rock/Metal guitaristand a great singer! Both solos were great. And sweet there's 3 guitarists in this vid. Adrian's solo stuff is amazing

  • Adrian is so Joe Elliot in this video!!

    Awesome!

  • OMG!!!!! MTV and good music?! that was possible??

  • @xSantiiag0ox back in the 80's...YES!

  • I dunno, heh. I know Adrian had to do this album when he did & I know he had to leave Maiden, but this stuff aint that great. I'm just glad he saw sense again & re-joined Maiden in 1999. We're all entitled to our lapses in sensibilities.

  • cest mauvais en esti

  • i bought this EP i think it was back in the early 90s. to be honest never thought much of it but would love to go back to that moment in time when rock music was at its best. sometimes you dont have to like the actual song or artist to appreciate the time it was in, if you know what i mean.

  • @steviestoosh cant remember if it was a an EP or an LP. all i know it cost me around £3

  • i didnt know he did vocals,,,,kewl

  • Hooray for Adrian's love of naked oriental chicks!

Everyone should search out this album, it's tremendous.

  • @surfdigby Agreed with that... Gotta love that LP cover, man that is one epic picture

  • He's a bit like Kai Hansen ... awesome guitar and voice

  • Adrian is the best Maiden boy.

  • This is a very rare and expensive album

  • The drummer is the son of Ringo Starr. His name is Zak Starkey. Today is the drummer of The Who.

  • mann... wen this video came from??.....adrian smith?......great...maybe not like maiden stuff....bit of a rock type....good song though

  • i like ASAP but as kilanator has pointed out they are not maiden but sound kinda like urchin if im not mistaken

  • Man, A.S.A.P is a great band, but unfortunately it sounds very different from Iron Maiden, so it didn't had much sucess...

  • bueno el tema, con razon este loco se salió de la banda por un tiempo, en maiden no lo ubiesen dejado tocar temas como estos

  • This is so good!

    It would be great if he did same stuff like that again;

  • nice solo from adrian smith

  • i love asap era!!!!! but im really glad, he is in iron maiden again :-)

  • wow..very god song..different than heavy metal (iron maiden) but very good xDD (sorry my bad english i'm brazilian)

  • Great song.

  • awesome,i love adrian very talented

  • Urchin, his band before joining Maiden, was awesome.

  • wn adrian canta muy bien y ademas toka perfectamente bien la guitarra

yo pienso ke adrian es un DIOS

  • adrian is very very cool

  • LEARN this: with this things he showed real emotions that he NEVER did before with Maiden.

  • Adrian Smith is a fuckin amazing master !!

    Great guitar...great vocals!!

I would like he sing another song in Iron Maiden, as he did in "Reach Out"

  • Dude.

    Adrian = God

  • no.

Adrian is much more powerful than god.

  • wow this soudns fucking epic, sounds really adrian!

  • hey can anyone send my this song i can't find it

    thax

  • Comment removed

  • good very different from Maiden but I expect that

  • Gosh what weak crap this is and i'm a big Adrian fan in general, thank God he did the heavy 'Psycho Motel' albums then rejoined Maiden.

  • Holy crap, I love this guy!

  • First time I've heard it, a far cry from his Iron Maiden days.

  • amazing!!!! Adrian smith rulez! he´s my idol

  • mine too!!!

  • He's voice reminds me Eric Clapton. Awesome

  • Man I don't have my cell phone (there is where I have all my music) and I'm crazy for downloading this song and getting it there!

  • anyone else agree that aidrian should have sung on two minutes to midnight instead of bruce?

check out his backing vocals on life after death,

    amazing!

  • his vocals are amasing, but i dont think he should do 2 minutes instad of Bruce. if u havent, check out Iron Maiden - Reach Out(H on vocals).

  • yeah,

sounds like a better brain adams,

i still just prefer his vocals on that track,

  • yeah. i wish the studioversion of 2 minutes was more like the one on live after death.

    up the holysmokers

  • Badass guitarist and singer.

  • Pure 80's! But he's better in Reach Out.

  • Great song by an album that has stick in my MP3 player these days:D

Note that Adrian appears on this clip with his favourite guitar, his gold top gibson les paul.

  • adrian is a great singer too

  • adrian smith its a legend of iron maiden

  • H is a fckin god!!! \m/\m/

  • H should make another solo album

  • up adrian smith!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • he's the best :D

  • Adrian Smith is the man.

    what cant he do?

  • ADRIAN SMITH!!!!!!!!!

  • adrian smith - best man on earth !

  • no he is'nt.he's not human...he's not of this earth...

  • ??? o.0

  • Evviva Adrian Smith i'm a great fan

  • Can anyone tell me what year is this

j think these are not the 80 's

  • I think it's 1989... right after Seventh Son album. Still can't believe it's Smith on vocals. But he is an amazing guitarist. All of my fave Maiden solos are written by him!

  • 1989 ;)

  • thanks dude

  • 1989

  • Of Course...email me.

    K

  • great song, great solo, great adrian, what more can i say? =]

  • this is a gret great song, and this is my first ever album that i buy on CD...of course after hundreds of vinils...great souvenir for a life time...Paris my Love!!

  • great singing, but he's the guitar God

  • That's awesome!

in a pop/hardrock way, of course! Nice to hear a metal guitarrist playing, singing and writing (well, not anymore) other kinds of songs.

Just awesome! A.S.A.P. was a really fucking awesome banda!

  • The only song on that dreaded A.S.A.P. album that approached Iron Maiden-level quality was the opening tune, "The Lion." That was a great song, but the rest was, well... I do love Adrian and he's one of the all-time great guitarists, but the A.S.A.P. concept was terrible. But Iron Maiden did an even more wrongheaded thing when they replaced Bruce Dickinson with Blaze Blayley for two albums, so I guess we all make mistakes.

  • Yeah, I agree about Blaze. Although, Virtual XI was pretty good.

  • well... they didn't really REPLACE Bruce with Blaze... Bruce quited.... remember!!

  • he could be a pop star in the 80's!!!!!

but he was a better metalhead!!!!

good that he took the metal side!!!!

  • He's one of my favourite guitar heros,

bought that album the month that was out,

-it's funny that quite man has this "rockish" (and excellent)voice!

btw, one of his jackson guitars was stolen in my country, after last saturday's maiden show

-a shame for all of us greek maiden/adrian fans.

I hope this guitar will be return to adrian finally

  • right but imo he is THE guitar hiro ;)

  • well he is maidens backup singer i believe correct me if im wrong i mean like he does backingup vocals

  • jajaj

    tipico rock

    de los 90

    jaja

  • wow,i never knew adrian moonlighted as the front man of def leopard......lol.

    Greatest guitarist on earth.

  • Adrian is so awesome singer ? :-) His riffs are better :-)

  • Theres a cd on ebay now bit its $80. theres a cheaper copy of the album on vinyl. I have the vinyl. Good record

  • Wow, this is fantastic! Adrian Smith is one hell of an awesome guitar player, not to mention songwriter and in this case, singer :)

  • I have this album on vinyl, and it's superb. Yes, it sounds a lot different to Maiden, but that was the point of recording it, to use up his ideas that didn't fit in with Maiden's style. "After The Storm" is an absolutely fantastic song, but there's no way it could have fit in with Maiden's sound.

  • yeah this is also my problem...u cannot find it anywhere!

  • the fuckin' best guitarplayer and a very good songwritter!! he's a god and of course this song is amazing ;)

  • wow, he got great voice..

great composing, damn he is freakin great.. my inspiration

  • Superb! The man is a living legend.

  • This is a fantastic song. Should have been a big hit for Adrian. Great, sensational melodic rock, superb!

  • i got this song on limewire under ASAP adrian smith and projects 12inch single i had this on tape

  • Adrian Smith rules!!

    Greetings from BraZil!

  • adrian entendio todo, tipo capo si los hay

  • Wonderful song!!! Adrian Smith rules!!!!

is there anywhere to download this album from ASAP?? I cant´find it anywhere so please help me!!

    Greetings from Brazil!!!

  • i saw it in an "old" music store if u know what i mean. i'm surching it too! i

  • GREAT SONG FROM A FANTASTIC ALBUM

  • i can imagine being all of your life in a metal band... one day it must bore you!

that's why he tried to do something different, not that he has anything against metal, it's just that he has other musical interests too.

anyway never recognized that he's such a great singer!

  • i listen this song to much!

    love it!

  • The Kid gone Astray video rocks, yeah.

  • i like this song. Considering all that Maiden have accomplished, this adrian sideline is quite nice, even if the real thing is his Maiden era, especially Number of the beast---Seventh Son. The solo rocks, you get all the attibute of a typicaly Adrian solo, there is not even a difference, i like it with the new style. But geez its good to have him back in Maiden, just to adjust back that li'l Gers.

  • ADRIAN SMITH IS GOD!

ASAP IS AS GOOD AS IRON MAIDEN

    DOWN THE WIRE!

    FALLEN HEROES!

    SILVER AND GOLD!

    This SONGS ARE THE BEST!!

  • LMAO - i actualyy quite like this song - bit different obviously, but its not bad :) Great guitar solo :D

  • who said that ALL Adrian's stuff MUST be metal??? he left Iron Maiden in 1990 because he got tired of metal

  • EXELLENT SONG

  • Damn,i cant help it,i always imagine Dickinson singing this

  • You Could be a king is better, Adrian rules!

  • Excellent album .Better than anything maiden have done

  • Dude, remove 2 of your ribs, and blow yourself! Yes, it's very good, Smith's an amazing song writer, singer, and its an understatement to say he's also an amazing guitarist too, but to say it's better than anythin Maiden's ever done is fucking blasthomy considering how many world wide fans they have! Words like that can start riots in some cultures

  • congradulation, hairmetal666, you have just redeemed yourself. However, I do still have a problem with you calling maiden "cheesy"

  • Jesus fuck it's you again! Dude what the fuck, I've never said anythin AGAINST Maiden, they are far from cheese dick-wod, I said I'm a maiden fan hence the 666 but at the same time I'm in a hair metal band, similar to a band called Extreme... familiar yet?!

  • he wrote this song before they recorded Somewhere in Time (you can hear it on "the entire population of hackney" bootleg, where H, nicko and some friends played..) But it sounded a bit different back then.. But obviously it was too "soft" to feature in a maiden album.

  • Silver And Gold is the best album Adrian ever put out in any band. It showcased his talents so much more than Maiden ever did.

  • Adrian rules!!!!!!!!!!!

  • the only track his vocals were good on was reach out a b side to wasted years

  • yes.

    you are correct

  • adrian with mullet is crazy!!!!!

  • good thing this didn't end up on a maiden album, it's crap, no offence adrian is a amazingly talented player and songwriter, but this is crap, good thing he returned to metal on AOB.

  • Actually, he returned to metal on State of Mind, his Psycho Motel album. Although, its considered to be more prog rock really...........still good though.

  • ok i'm not really familar with that.

  • Search on myspace, there is a fanpage on there where you can listen to some tracks. I think theres a wikipedia entry too.

  • loll

    this is disco

  • cause adrian is a god :D..

  • aww man this song is a sh**!! Adrian is great!

  • Shit... Fuckin Shit o.O ...!!! Adrian the great!!!!!

  • sounds like early def leppard with the voice of whitesnake...not bad! and not maiden

  • ahahahahaha adrian smith...great legend...nice hair

  • try ebay

  • Wow. I loooooooove Maiden, and Mr. Smith of course, but this is really bad! It sounds like cookie cutter 80s pop rock!

  • Adrian Smith is the fuckin man!!!

  • If you like Adrian's singing, listen to a song called "Reach Out" from the Iron Maiden wasted years single. Adrian does the lead vocals and Bruce does the backing vocals! Really good song too.

  • My first and third comments were responses for Unorthodox41....don't know why they went to the top of the page!

  • Who is the other guitar player? That first half of the solo is NOT Adrian.

  • I have been a real Adrian Smith and Iron Maiden fan since 1986 he is a privilage musician and i bought silver and gold lp of A.S.A.P. as it was released,a very classical Smith sound.KEEP GOIN' ON ADRIAN!!!

  • Actually it was his band when he left after 7th son of a 7th son, and it wasnt on the b side of wasted years, even though he did sing on the b side

  • wow, really different sound from his iron maiden days. I guess this is more an 80s sound he took upon. I thought he would sound more like "Reach out"

  • Oh Snap!!!"Reach Out" I forgot about that. Thanks for reminding. Wasn't it a Maiden single B-side?

  • yeap!! it was a b-side for Wasted Years, if I'm not mistaken. He covered this song, I don't remember the original performer of the song, though.

  • I thought it isn't a cover...in the booklet of 'Best of B'Sides' You can read he has written Reach Out...I'm not shure, but I think so...*searching for the CD..*

  • It was written by Dave Colwell, who is in Bad Company and was part of ASAP. I guess he is singing someone else's song, not a cover.

  • great music by Adrian Smith. His band ASaP is Adrian Smith and Project. They were his old band before maiden. I guess he had alot on his mind when he left maiden back in 89. Anyway good stuff. Love the idea behind the song and whole album.

  • don´t like that song in spite of the fact that Adrian is a fantastic Songwriter and guitarist

  • Adrian Smith > Iron Maiden

  • Adrian Smith = Urchin

STEVE HARRIS = IRON FUCKING MAIDEN

  • Iron Maiden was Adrian... so Iron Maiden was NOTHING without him! Ha!

  • Uhhh...forget yer meds or just STOOOOPID? Up The Irons!!

  • ...die original-Version hier ist imho nicht so prall..dafür ist die Liveversion vom 'Entire Population of Hackney'-Konzert einer der geilsten Songs überhaupt!! ;D

  • Quite different from Maiden. ASAP reminds me a sort of Bryan Adams... btw the S6G album is briliant and some b-sides as"When she's gone" too...

  • Adrian does sounds like John Skyes here...love this album though.Personal fav is "down the wire".

  • the adrian's talent is unbelivable....

  • i think if you mean if you want to hear adrian.. buy Somewhere in time..

  • fuck yeah!!! his solos are reconigzed for every metal head in the world,,, his not so tecnnical but anyone kwnoes when in a record adrian smith is doing his solos or his super rokcers riffs!

  • Ya i prefer Psycho Motel than this, you can see Adrians potential flourishing in Welcome to the world album

  • He sings a bit like Phil Collins...

  • I prefer "the Lion" from this CD.

  • adrian rules!

  • i think overall its a pretty lame song. Lyrics are well written, and the solo is obviously adrian, but the rest is just bleh

  • 'Seventh son...' really stands the test of time. This, recorded a year later, sounds out of the dark ages. I do love the guy tho, but if you want to hear Adrian, just buy Powerslave !!!

  • I love the song!!His voice is so good!

  • He has big big heart of rock'n'roll.

  • THANX finally i can hear/see something of theirs
