Guys, the pen is a gimmick pen. The tip is a magnet, so when you push in the pen it goes around and under the card faster than the eye can see it. Trust me, l have one of those pens.

on 1:00 he took the head of the pen and put it under the card than he fast(but not fast enough to stop me seeing that the pens head was missing at 1:03.also he failed his black cloth cover) attached the head of the pen with magnet bottom...than he got the pen on the hole that he was hiding with his finger.also the coins are not attractive to magnets so the coin fall off but the pen's head connected to her body...

Doesn't the fact that the title says pen through dollar revealed, with emphasis on the revealed suggest that he doesn't mind that he's showing you how it's done. He's making it obvious. He shows off an effective trick, then shows you it in different contexts in such a way he shows you how it's done, without actually telling you.

its a sleight of hand. at .26 seconds he drops the tip of the pen at the exact same time he pretends to force it through. that is how he's able to slide it off at the end of the dollar segment. the trick is easy, its the sleight of hand that takes practice.

the reason why he puts the pin under the card to show u theres no holes is to take the point off the pin and hold it there then he takes the other end away frast so u cant see he did it then puts it in the right spot so u cant see what realy happened kinda easy to figure it out

I think showing the hole afterwards is a good mindfuck too, as anyone not in on the method would think that the performer dagged the pen laterally through the card without ripping it. Now that's pretty fucking magical.

I know, that's why the word puncture was in parenthesis. He was covering the hole with his thumb at the beginning so that he could slide the pen over to it and push it thru, presumably as misdirection for anyone onto the fact that it's a magnetic pen since it always "penetrates" the same distance thru any object. I don't know if you're supposed to re-hide the hole after that, as it's pretty obvious it's premade due to the perfect cut edges. Maybe premake the hole with torn edges instead?

Actually if you use 1:06 for a shortcut you miss it, it's right as 1:05 is rolling over. Just as he's flipping over the card to reveal the pen tip on the other side, if you look between his left thumb and the corner of the card you'll see it. It's at a steep angle and only for a split second but if you look closely you'll see it. Small screw-up that only reveals itself on repeat viewings, you would have to be pretty sharp to catch that in live performance.

No he's right. The hole is part of the trick. He's covering that part of the card with his thumb when he first "punctures" the card, (by ditching the magnetic pen tip under the card and then quickly flips it around so you can't see the missing end). Then, after the pen apparently moves sideways through the card, he moves it over to the premade hole and shoves it through to throw off people getting wise to the fact the pen always poke thru the same distance. But at 1:06, you can see the hole.
