If you're having a problem causing After Effects not to find Optical Flares (You can't see the Video Copilot in the Effects menu) go back into where you pasted the Optical Flares folder and drag that into the "Effects" folder. (Adobe After Effects CS5.5\Support Files\Plug-ins\Effects)

also follow MrTimCreeds advice and download the update from Video Copilots support page if you're running CS5 or higher.

TO THE PEOPLE WITH CS5.5 This work perfectly. Go to Video-Copilot's website and download the update for your PC from the support page. To install the update just copy and replace the file into the Optical Flares folder you pasted into the Plug-in folder. Finish the steps in the video. Voila! Works fine for me.

and download the version you need then drag and drop the .aex file into there and overwrite

his version then follow through with his tutorial.

For those having issues with CS5.5 go to video pilots website and download the update for this plug in and replace the folder with the optical flares folder, then proceed like he does in the video except you need to save the key in the 64 bit plug in folder that is in the optical flares folder. If you just select the optical flares folder like he does in the vieo it will not work., Hope this helps.

Step 1: Follow video for installation and movement of files.

Step 2: Go to video copilots website and download the update for optical flares cs5.5.

Step 3: Take the updated file that you downloaded from video copilots website and place it in your optical flares folder for that you moved to the plugins folder.

Then your done!
