Im just now starting my comb coiled locs and im on my third week.yay!. but my hair is very frizzy now and about one inch of my roots are loose, when i try to retwist them they come down the next day. im thinking about using this method, but i know i will eventually want to take them down years later. is it possible to take locs apart if this method is used?
y not get the nappylocks tool? it's not expensive & it's smaller, therefore you're able to get much closer to the scalp w/the last rotation w/o worrying about pulling the hair w/the latchhook.
@glamazon67 I've used the nappylocks took before and found it to be too small for me, however I LOVE their haircare products. I'm able to get very close to my scalp with the latch hook, it's just a matter of personal preference :0)
thank u soo much ..do you think u can add a lock to the end of a dread ..like i had my dreads for about the same year as you .. 3 to 4 years i think..and i wanted to add my aunts cut off dreads the the end of mine...DO you think a latch hook will help me accomplish my this MS.
@7thstreetable I've never tried to add an extension with a latch hook, I've just braided it into the loc. I have a video on it if you would like to take look. :0)
I just started latching my hair after 10 months of palm rolling. I have that soft curly hair that would unravel about 3 or 4 days after leaving my loctician. I would prefer to latch my hair for now on, but will I completely lose the cylinder shape of my lock or will it all blend in? Thank you for your video.
Hi! Your locs may not be quite as cylindrical as palm rolled locs. When you latch your hair it may take on a more "weaved" or "interlocked" look. It prob wouldn't be obvious to anyone but you though. You can alway palm roll any loose hairs in after latching, that may help with keeping them uniform looking.
I hope my hair turns out as nice as yours =[
