  • An inspiring man who is an incredible witness of Christ!

  • Honestly speaking, its good to see people of different religions making a good life for themselves anywhere nowadays, but if your not a catholic or a protistant(spelled that wrong) christian,a lot of people are gonna jump down your throat about it,it's a sad fact but people are people, and generally speaking, they don't like whats outside their comfort zone. Now I personally don't have a particular religion of my own,but I still respect those who do,and I respect this man for his pride in his work.

  • I have lost any respect I had for normons. They try to convert by showing succesful people. Pathetic. Theres plenty succesful people that are jews, catholics, buddhist and so on. Religon has nothing to do with it.

  • @TheTarheelRam These videos are all about dispelling myths about mormons, not to brag about how great mormons are.

  • @TheTarheelRam These are just the more popular ones, there are literally hundreds and hundreds of these videos. Not all of them are famous people. And it really is to show that what society calls "cool" people are also part of our religion, which has received much criticism for supposedly being a "cult" or devil church where the members have horns (yep some people believe we have horns)

  • @TheTarheelRam no it's because all of America hates us and for no good reason

  • Who cares!! Being a mormon didnt make him get where he is now. Theres plenty of sucessful catholics, jews, muslims, buddhist. This has nothing to do with anything related to mormon.

  • @TheTarheelRam as someone already said, these videos are meant to dispel stereotypes that have been circulating about the LDS religion (mormons). This video in particular deals with the problems of some thinking that mormons are rasist, and that people of a different skin color aren't allowed to join our church. Which can't be further from the truth. The videos are also supposed to show that we are the same as everybody else. That we come from all walks of life.

  • i used to be a mormon, but then i took an arrow to the knee.

  • makes me proud to be one

  • this video is cool in mormon too i love watching these videos!!!!!!!!!

  • Why is this video being voted down?

  • Loved this.

  • how about a video of what your religion is about?

  • @abrahamisagreatman can I suggest a web site?

  • @abrahamisagreatman try mormonmessages a youtube channel that has tons of videos about what the LDS faith is all about. You can also try lds.org and mormon.org.

  • Dude uh...I'm not Mormon, don't really care for them either, but the ones I have met are incredibly nice, regardless of what you believe in. I Don't think they deserve the kind of shit they've been getting, they've done nothing wrong.

  • I can see if you don't believe in the religion but why do so many people hate it? like really i know a lot of Mormons and the have high standards and are very good people i think you all want a reason to complain

  • Keep it up!!! You are an awesome singer and a good example of a church I am proud to belong to.

  • Lol 666 likes and I'm not a mormon

  • Im not Mormon but I am religious and I love hearing a good story like this! YOU ROCK ALEX!

  • Does Mormonism provide dental?

  • whats with all the hate this is way better than nigahiga and if you don't like it than don't watch it

  • i really dont understand why this has so many dislikes...

  • Mormons have such a strange religion with nothing to back it up, good thing im a Pastafarian!!!!

  • i thought mormans dont like blacks

  • yes they WOULD have a bunch of black people in the mormon media now.

  • black people ftw

  • The reason we are advertising our religion is so that you "non-believers" can know about the gospel and that the LDS Church is the true church. I have a testimony of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, that it is the true church and no matter how hard we try, you guys just discriminate us, ridicule us, and dont listen to us when we try to help you know about the true church. My name is Banner Owens, I'm 13 years old, I have a great life, and I am a Mormon.

  • @GettinJiggy98 Your username is 'GettinJiggy98' I'm sorry if I can't take you seriously!

  • @GettinJiggy98 cool story bro, think I'll stick with Buddhism, thanks.

  • The point of this vid is just to say hey we're normal, don't be hatin', but even I have to admit it's pretty corny.

  • Awesome video

  • Man, the mormon ppl i know are smart, really disciplined and hard working. This girl who went to my school was mormon, and her sister, and 3 brothers are all going to BYU and all are straight A students. Im not saying all of them are like that, but the few i have met are regular people, probably better than the so called "normal" christians who ridicule them. I hate how religions look down on one another, no wonder there are many non-believers.

  • @Rangerwhat yeah me too, they say theyre christian but then they talk down to them and hate them for their beliefs. let them worship how, where, or what they may.

  • Omg the mormons are not trying to advertise there religon. We are just soo tired of everyone talking crap about us and saying how weird we are, so we are just trying to let the soo called "normal people" know who we really are. about 90% of what the media says is not true so we need to make these videos to tell u guys who we really are.

  • @The14yearoldrapper1 You are correct but I refuse to agree with someone named "The14yearoldrapper1".

  • @The14yearoldrapper1 Um, most people know you're normal people, just because of media slander doesn't mean you have to put out these endless advertisements.

  • @Salamentarg We're trying to defend ourselves.

  • @The14yearoldrapper1 the media slanders muslims WAY more than mormons.....but you don't see them making these kinds of videos?

  • @The14yearoldrapper1 yeah Im not a Mormon and im not sure if I could even call my self a christian but Mormonism seams not weird at all to me idk. I like how you aren't just dissing everyone else too man its good to see like idk good people because I dont care what people have faith in as long as there good people

  • i bet you if he didnt say i am a mormon this viedo would be all thumbs up

  • you know there may be people out there that are mormon that are you best friends and you dont even know it... why be rude just because you dont believe the religion? really you dont see mormons talking bad or being rude about Catholics or Jews do you?

  • Ill be honest here, Im not a mormon and dont really like the religion after studying it. However there are two things I did notice: they are very VERY big into family and they are very sincere people. I would never become a mormon, but I would never bash them for being one.

  • Cool story bro, lets add some dragons and fire to complete the saga.

  • Am a atheist,u jelleh?

  • Cool Story Bro.

  • These videos are made to show that mormons are all different and come from different backgrounds.

  • Will Smith Prince, Superhero, and Legend

  • Nice vid I guess

  • This has nothing to do with being Mormon.............

  • @headllamp It does, it's him sharing his testimony, how he gained it, and how the church has changed his life.

  • nope.avi

  • Christianity is not a religion its a relationship

  • @TheJozuki thank you

  • Okay, what is the point of this.

  • ...he's British.....get over it. If he was from america, it'd be a whole 'nother story.

  • I can't for the life of me figure out why there are so many dislikes...

  • @TheMokafan Because haters are gonna hate. It's just a story, but when people see "Mormon," they freak out.

  • 533 people are Mormons.

  • @charlie6696696 1,182 people are unfriendly, heavy hearted and most likely unhappy with there lives who for whatever reason resent those who have a positive message to share with others. Sadness made simply; how pathetic are they ???

  • @charlie6696696 There are actually over 14.1 million Mormons in the world.

  • @charlie6696696 533/~400,000, and it's a Mormon video

  • Christianity is not a religion.

  • @pabanil

certainly, it's a relationship with Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.

Thank you for pointing that out! (:

  • Um we latter day saints know this. Gods happiness in many forms around the world in many degrees despite your background, but we LDS believe that true happiness which is greater in the teachings of Jesus Christ through the LDS church. Find a devoted Mormon and analyze him, you will see that they are happy and that is because they feel a great joy in the teachings of the church. Don't look for just any Mormon but a devoted one. One who understand what it is to be a practicing Mormon.

  • @HowDoILoveTheee

So being happy is the true sign of if something is true??? There are happy Born Again Christians, Happy budhist, Happy Athiests... are there beliefs just as true because they are happy also??? And it is about the right Church and not about a relationship with God that makes you happy? Catholics believe they are in the "right church", are they wrong? Just wondering...thanks

  • @TheMCBADGER You have a lot to learn about the Christian religion and what caused religion to go bad. Study up more about Constantine, Constantine took Jesus teachings and twisted it for his gain. All order of Christ church, truth died with him and the apostles. If your a lazy reader I recommend a documentary called A Lamp In The Dark. Look at it with a open mind and do not take all of its research as for truth. Research it afterwards and come to understand on who and what corrupted the bible.

  • "I'm a Mormon."

    "...and i'm a PC."

  • @dapx32 If you want to know the beliefs of the Mormon church feel free to message me :)

  • Should have been on the Voice lol

  • @dapx32 These commercials weren't made to teach what Mormons believe in. They are more to show that Mormons aren't a bunch of weirdos, but are normal people. If you want to know what Mormons believe in visit the website mormon.org

  • I would just like to know why these commercials never tell us what morman's beliefs are. It feels more like they are trying to convert us all by showing only nice mormans instead of explaining what they believe in. Anyone want to let me know what they believe in?

  • @dapx32 honestly, their religious beliefs are nothing unusual. they believe in god, and jesus, and most of the rumors you hear about them aren't remotely true. like they have more than one wife. they just teach morals and stuff. the only different thing is that they believe they should rest on sunday and spend time with their families. also, they have the book of mormon, which is a whole other discussion haha. my mother is a mormon, and I grew up in a mormon church and family.

  • Mormon church LOVES this dude, because he's black... and the Mormon church is constantly accused of being racist. Poster Child if there ever was one.

  • Hahaha, woooow. Such ignorance from the commentators below.

  • If people are so annoyed by religion & feel that it is so detrimental to their lives and to society... then why did you click on this video. Is it because you have nothing better to do in your lives & you wanted to share your boredness and internal envy with the world. These people as well as other religions(not just mormons) just want to show everyone what they believe in & how it makes them happy. If you find happiness in no religion then good for you. You'll find out the truth when you die...

  • why are there so many dislikes, it was an inspirational story. just becuz hes morman means u automatically disagree with him? :(

  • @MsBadluck13 It's not that we disagree with the story, it's the fact that we disagree with the message being presented in this commercial. The message is that Mormonism brings happiness... The people who dislike these videos aka myself recognize that religion is not necessary for the pursuit and acquisition of happiness.

  • @MsBadluck13

    Yes.

  • We aren't saying that you must be a Mormon to be a happy, healthy, productive member of society. We are saying, collectively and individually, that the LDS faith (a.k.a. Mormonism) has provided us with a source of hope, purpose, and peace that plays directly into our everyday lives. We sacrifice our time and resources to make these videos in hopes that they will likewise help someone else. It's all about sharing with those who choose to watch. I see nothing worth complaining about!

  • @livethetruth1109

You don't have to be Mormon to have "hope, purpose, and peace." Millions of people have all of that and have nothing to do with religion at all... including Mormonism.

  • @MrBadfish2 Um we latter day saints know this.

  • @jacksmack77 He has a wicked haircut and enjoys boogey boarding. Frank 10:13

  • hes got a hot wife for sure

  • i don't understand why these ads play everywhere, christians dont go around advertising christianity, or i don't go aorund advertising men cuz i am one, its rather ridiculous, nothing agianst mormons but really? ADS???

  • @gardea101 "i don't understand why these ads play everywhere"

It accomplishes two things: it is a way to reach out to people and a way to tell someone's unique story.

It is not to say that one cannot be a good person without Mormonism or any religion, but each ad can show a case where the religion made a positive impact in their life, and can be that change that someone out there struggling can use. It goes with the hope that it spreads hope around whether people to join or not.

  • @gardea101 There are religions all over that advertise their religion....not just mormons. e.i. All of sudden some people of the jehovah witness faith started knocking on my door on a weekly basis, giving my family flyers about how the world is ending ... (i don't tell them to go away because it is rude). I do think that mormons advertise more than most but that is mainly because they can afford it and they feel like it is necessary for their faith to grow more worldwide.

  • I hope you guys know that these videos aren't to convince you to join the Mormon church but more to show that we are normal people and no different than any of you.

  • @bobro123 but, why would you have to show people that your normal? what does someone else' opinion of you matter?

  • @bobro123 adding "we" to that comment was just about the worst thing that you could do

  • @axxle000 Which obviously means they don't exist, right? I've never been to China and by your logic it must not exist.

  • So you've basically just taken an inspiring story and smacked it with the label "God" to somehow convince people that he exists.

I have morals, I derive them from myself.

    I'm an atheist.

  • Hi, I'm someone who has had a fairly successful life and enjoys the better part of life. I love living and I help people when ever I can. I've stopped 3 very depressed people from committing suicide.

I'm inspirational and my religion(or lack of) has nothing to do with this comment but I'm going to put it on the internet hoping people will see it and relate to it. Then by relating to it they will assume my success and moralities are because of my religion(or lack of).

  • His wife is fine.

  • your not a mormon your a brother.

  • If God would give a person a wife and a family, they would know his Truth. But God does not act as his people wish, but as He wishes.

  • These are normal people not natural people. "The natural man is an enemy to God" (Mosiah 3:19)

  • so.... the point is.....

  • @mathwizperson There is no point. This guy just talked into a camera and put it on youtube.... I don't get it either.

  • @ElectricFeraligatr What is the point of anything on YouTube? This seems to have more of a point than 98% of what's on YouTube. Probably that's why so many people dislike it.

  • Mathew 5 : 16

Let your alight so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

  • So... Mormonism is funny... right? cause I was watching funny stuff, now I'm not...

    Mr. Troll not amused

  • Why are there so many dislikes? Is it because he's mormon? I don't know much about that religion but I'm pretty sure it's not all that bad. His story is really inspirational xD

  • @SabrinaEntertainment becuase the story as nothing to do about being mormon but anyways the interwebz is no place for religion

  • @SabrinaEntertainment because life accomplishments have no relevence religion, and advertising religion is just plain weird.

  • @SabrinaEntertainment

Its not because hes a mormon, its because people not only are irrational and close-minded, but they hold almost an arrogance for what they use to determine right and wrong

  • @SabrinaEntertainment It's because Mormons are advertising all of these people's success making it seem like its because they're mormon. Notice how he didn't actually explain the religion?

  • @OfcIturm96 Yeah but after watching these videos I realized that all the Church is trying to show is who the Mormons are since there's so much misunderstanding. These videos are showing people that they're normal people

  • @djbummy16 Thank you. Someone who is not Mormon bashing and gets the concept

  • @SabrinaEntertainment It's cause he's black AND mormon AND British! LOL

  • @SabrinaEntertainment its because none of this is related to being a mormon really. I dont think the dislikers have anything against mormons. This video is like me saying, Artist, Cosplayer and ATHEIST.

  • wait what did being a morman have to do with music

  • This vid spammed my suggestions box on youtube for about a year.... Xp

  • I like how they need to dispel stereotypes :)

  • Wow. There are 872 people out there who seem to have a problem with nice stories about people who make inspiring music.

  • Notice the requirement for approval on all comments.

  • Also, Mormons often forget that we live under the New Covenant. Jesus died for us because he knew we would never be perfect enough to get into heaven, and that we wouldn't have an opportunity to repent once we've died. He took all our sins with Him when he went down to hell. There is nothing we could ever do to be perfect enough to deserve God's love, BUT! He loves us anyway. GOD is unchanging, and He is also the WORD. Therefore, His words are unchanging.

  • That's too bad. You don't have to be Mormon. Don't accept your fate, you can do something about it. Learn critical reasonings skills and make the change. Many have, and none of them regret it.

  • Mormonism was based on a great deal of racism because it was formed here in America. Only in 1978 i think they started to admit blacks as higher level type members because of the African influence from Africa who from what I understand threatened to split and go on their own. I would like to know from any Mormon here how are blacks treated in Mormon society today and how is the classic racism from the days of Joseph Smith been abated? Just a question from one who would like to know.

  • How shocking! Comment pending approval? Good sign that you don't want to show the truth......

  • You know, I have no problem with Mormons or other theists... I do have a problem with these videos showing up at the top of all my "related videos" pile. What does this have to do with robotics or chiptunes?

  • Not a fan.

  • Someone get this black man a bible

  • Hmm. Inspiring but it's a shame you only see stories about relatively clear-cut upward trends in people's lives. I mean I understand that some people in dark places need to see people who went from nothing to something but what happens when you have the life you want and are forced to watch it systematically destroyed in front of you. What happens when you call out to God and nothing happens? I'd like to know why I should continue to trust God then.

  • I completely disagree with any religion trying to recruit people to join, such as this and Jehovah's Witnesses. And besides, how strong can your faith really be if you were persuaded to join a religion by watching a YouTube video?

  • It's good that he can be a part of the mormon church now.

  • His Mother left for 8 years.

  • He is a great ambassador for all things positive.

  • I am curious if Mormons can identify one another out of a crowd as Jehovah's Witnesses can.

  • What's the difference between Mormons and other christians? What was in the book of Mormon? What divided us so?

  • @TheTrojantroy We aren't divided on any issue, we just think a bit differently. I'm Mormon, and I'm going on a mission so I can teach people that, I want people to understand we aren't all nut- jobs, just... a fair amount of us. Honestly, there isn't a huge difference between us and other Christians, If you're curious you can message me. I won't shove my religion down your throat though, that's not what Jesus taught.

  • Only the weak need to talk to an invisible "being" in the sky.

  • All these haters prove that you can't do anything GOOD or worthwhile without being scoffed at. Come on people. This is a simple story trying to explain that Mormons are among the people YOU like. You are all looking at it too closely...

  • I like how every video has more dislikes than likes.

  • GIVE ME COFFEE OR GIVE ME DEATH!

  • Why is this video advertised when I'm watching a Bad Religion video? Do Mormons enjoy impossible challenges?

  • I don't mind if Alex Boye is a proud mormon, and it honestly wouldn't make a difference if he was jewish, muslim or buddhist, as long as he's happy with his life. But PLEASE don't force your views on the people who just want to watch videos on youtube without having religious ads shoved down their throats.

  • All the black people in these videos have white wives, videos promoting interacial relationships is the message.

  • People need to realize that if you're happy in Mormonism, you could just as easily be happy in mainstream Christianity. I'm sick of this mentality that Mormons have it all. They don't. If they did, everyone would be running to the nearest churchhouse to get baptized.

  • @vendo233 People need to realize that if you're happy in Christianity, you could just as easily be happy without any religion at all. I'm sick of this mentality that people can only be good when they align themselves with a 3,000 year old myth. Get real. Religion is no longer relevant in society.

  • @anarchydance GREATEST COMMENT EVER

  • @anarchydance Religion is definitely still relevant in society. Islam is spreading across Europe and is taking over.

  • @anarchydance woah good luck with that argument :(

  • @anarchydance sounds like you have your own "religion" :) "get real" is also a perspective and point of view.i although i may agree that religions can carry nonsense and negativity, i do also know idiots like yourself have NO idea whatsoever what your missing out on for whats inside of you. yes i called you an idiot because although im in no way a "mormon" or anywhere close to that, i think your also trying to force down others throats your own views. have a great ignorant day

  • @anarchydance Like I just commented to someone else. I don't think that it takes a religion to be happy with your life. What I do think though is that as long as someone lives how they believe they should and in a way they can be proud of then you will be happy with your life. But I do think for many people religion is calm and safe and brings reassurance. I know that is how it is for me. But not everyone feels that way. The point of this is to just show that Mormons are just like everyone else

  • @anarchydance

Just what Satan wants you to believe...

  • @anarchydance its not a myth its all based on real events if they were god or aliens or they was high is up to interpretation

  • @anarchydance actually it is, unfortunately. war on terror is fueled by the isreal, palestine conflict which is fueled by religious reasons. religious politics are trying to take rights away from gays, yet claiming religion is to big..................................there are countless examples. YET ALL RELIGIONS CLAIM TO BE PEACEFUL. BS

  • @anarchydance ^+1

  • @anarchydance Or maybe Christianity is making them happy. Dude leave them alone there not forcing you to become a mormon. If you want a religion to hate hate the muslims, oh but wait unlike the mormons if you attack there beliefs they will kill you. There a peaceful religion there is no need to be hostile against them.

  • @anarchydance religion is very relevant. look at the news. look at history, its been the basis of the biggest wars and greatest alliances in the world. Just because you don't happen to believe doesn't mean its not true. Don't spread the darkness of doubt. Notice how happy, honest and sincere he is. He is an example of the believers. What are you an example of?

  • @anarchydance religion is and always has been extremely relevant. look at the news, look at history. Religion has been the reason for terrible conflicts, the biggest the world has seen, not to mention the foundations of the greatest alliance. just because you don't believe doesn't make the truth invalid. There are always doubters. and myths come from somewhere, if you insist on that particular phrase, every childs' tale has a moral, a grain of truth.

  • HI. i'm andrew. i love to help out my community in any way i can, to do good unto others, and promote the general welfare of my country. i support my troops, at home or abroad, regardless of supporting the war. i love music-i believe in the arts, but also in the art of vocation and of the technician . i aspire to be an educated person and to make the world a better, safer place.i believe in justice, and in being sober and free from drugs and alcohol.

i'm andrew, and i'm an atheist.

  • @TheNondiscriminatory I'm a mormon, but I like your comment. I don't think the point of this add is to say why these people are happy or doing the things they're doing. It's just showing that Mormon's are every day people and trying to get rid of the stereotypes or beliefs people have about us, like being polygamist or whatever. I don't think it takes religion to be happy though. It takes living a good life or a life that you are proud of.

  • @TheNondiscriminatory I'm not atheist, but damn! This comment made my day. Thank you!

  • @TheNondiscriminatory legendary troll

  • @TheNondiscriminatory I'm assuming that you think that we're saying only we can have a life that does good the people who say that our saying compared to the mass of society our religion acts more like this. and i appreciate what you do and hope you inspire people as well. thank you

  • @TheNondiscriminatory Jesus Christ... Nice post man!

  • @TheNondiscriminatory you are also my hero.

  • You can be critical of a particular religious belief, but that is no excuse for dehumanizing someone simply because you disagree with their faith. Mr. Boye here is likely to be a good man, a good father, so his ethnicity, or religion should not be an impediment to regarding him as a fellow human being. I am an Atheist :)

  • It's a good thing that religion is there for people who are desperate to cling to anything to hang on. Wait....

  • Um, I have one question to ask, NO OFFENCE TO ANYONE: Do Mormons dislike same-sex stuff?

Just curious, Im young and I wanna know ^_^

  • @VanillaTwister Nope, they've actually spent alot of money campaining against same-sex marriage. Of course everyone's an individual—any paticular mormon may not agree with the church's official stance.

  • @VanillaTwister Mormons are trying to prevent gay marriage, marriage is a special bond between a man and a woman

  • Cool story bro
