I can't say anything more than my personal experience.

I have a mac since one year and it's just fantastic, I've never had troubles with it!

I've had a pc with windows xp and I had troubles with hardware since the 2 month, and month by month it became slower and slower.

After one year it tooks something like 5 minutes to wait for the pc to be ready, and with a mac after 20 seconds is ready,

Also no virus, no trial programs. The better publicity is to share your experience.

To me Windows sucks.

Macs are used in almost every business place ever.

PC's are really great for gaming, and younger people with smaller budgets.

Actually, most real business places use PC's outfitted with XP. It's easily networked, very light on resources, stable, and easy to fix in a pinch. Macs are usually used for any media based businesses, and that's due more to hype than anything. Truth is, a PC can pretty well do anything you need it to. Media included.

My observation, which in no way is objective or empirical mind you, is that any business that requires large scale networking (and IS NOT an indie music/movie studio) usually goes with a Windows XP setup. That OS is pretty much built for the task.

Personally, I'm a Win 7 guy. OSX is fine, but (for me) not worth the cost.  I'm a guy that needs POWAH from his PC.

To be fair, every thing in the mac/pc commercials IS true. Mac never could compete with pc in the business world, so instead Mac has been designed for the home users, with some very easy to learn programs that let people be productive in a fun way like making picture books.  Macs are safer than pcs because they do not communicate as well with other systems, Macs are simple, cute and clean ^_^ PC is the salariman that makes the money to afford the Mac at home for fun!

I hear what you're saying, but I kinda disagree. I've "played" with Macs (my type of playing being VFX and video editing) and I've "played" with PC's. To me, a PC (custom, mind you) is the every-computer. As in, I can do everything I want and need, on a PC. On a Mac of the same price range, I might be able to get about half those things done. On a REALLY good day.

@AndrewDeLong i think many people would agree with you, including me. With training, money and effort you can get a lot more from a PC - AFTER you learn how to rebuild it for your personal needs. Mac is more friendly. Mac looks like it is the offspring of the blender and TV. Macs are round and cute and easy to use for what they do - and a lot of people LIKE that. PCs scare a lot of first-time users. PCs are much more powerful but also much easier to accidentally ruin.

I have the newest iMac and MacBook Pro, along with the newest Dell (not a PC, which is a Personal Computer, much like a Mac). I can say that the Mac's are faster overall and can start up anything instantly, along with entertainment, iMovie is also much better than WMML.
