@halation777 Totally agree btw. That happens to be a minimal track, artistically. The goal isn't always maximum techno. But, sometimes it is...and, If you want to hear what these machines can really do, this is your punishment:
soundcloudDAWTcomSLASHhighsage : the first track there right now is a redonkulous techno set... "Something in the Pie"
@halation777 Yeah they can do more but some of us are minimal addicts but need our glitch fix as well. I don't know why you even comment and diss this guy's art when you don't even have anything to compare. These machines can do all kinds of shit but if your not feelin it....leave
@Lemure333 Because I wanted to see what these things are capable of. Why would you buy a Ferarri to drive it 25mph? Also, I do have have things to compare it to, obviously, that's why I think it's boring.
@halation777 ok then, check out radambe...he uses them in a way that may be more towards max potential...there are many out there. Some of his stuff is minimal and other stuff is complex and heady. Do you have a MD yet? If not, I do hope you get one, they are unlike any other drum computer I have ever worked with.
@halation777 This isn't such a good example, but if you stop and carefully listen to some good minimal techno you will see it is every bit as complex as any other music, it's just you prefer hearing very big/ obvious changes, so don't notice the subtlety.. I am not saying you will like it, but it is no more simplistic than anything..
@efectomariposa93 Hey thanks! Yes, you can use any of the 16 parts as a MIDI sequencer. Note, Velocity, Note length, etc..but also any number of CC's, Mod Wheel, etc. as well. It's actually one of my favorite mono sequencers of all time! Beyond that though, any one of those 16 parts can assign a 'root' note to a give step on the sequencer, and then you also get two more notes too, that are relative to the root note, in semi-tone increments up to +/-24!!! So you can sequence a polyphonic!
@shagghie Thanks for the quick reply! I will therefor buy a machinedrum so I can use it as main sequencer for live performances. And thanks for the additional info about polyphony!!! I am going to use the sampler and the sequencer mainly...I view the great sound scuplting of the MD as a huge plus. Have you seen the incredible T-resonator from the jomox crew?
@efectomariposa93 Yes, in fact, the T-res is the secret sauce lately in my live PA's.... Juergen is a genius. (no, really) :-) Let me know if any other MD feature questions, etc. before you make the purchase... here to help
@shagghie I appreciate it! Actually, yes I have 1 more question, but first, I had another question about your tr-606...You have modded it, right? Do you have some link to the mod in that case? Of course I want to use the best mod available. I heard of one old mod to have the kick drum sound more 808ish. But other mods have other attractive features, I have seen. What do you recommend?
Feelin this shagghie...great use of that eventide!_!

Why do people spend $1500+ to make such minimal and simple (boring) techno? My god, these things can do SO much more!!

@shagghie Great music!! Cn you also use the sequencer of the machinedrum to control other gear; notes, pitch, velocity etc?
