head phones because it blocks out all noise if you get the right ones...beats professionals are the ones I got and they are the best headphones ever!!
It is painfully obviouse that Mr. Pirillo doesnt know anything about phone. A pair of $50 Earbuds will most likely suck, there are some good Altec Lansing rebranded UE IEM's that would do very well in that price range. There is a big differents beteen IEM (In Ear Monitors) and Earbuds. Earbuds ride just outside the ear canal while IEM's go into the ear canal. For you people complaining about paying $50 for IEM's or Earbuds, you obviously do not care one bit for sound quality.
@GerardLuver777 Are you kidding??? Good Headphones can get up into the thousands. Rule of thumb is that the best Price/Performance ration cans can be had for around $100. You may as well look at a Ford Focus and go, OMG I am not paying $14000 for a car, I will go get a second hand Geo Metro for $500.
@GerardLuver777 No, I am not. Some people care more about audio that others, some people consider $100 cans be Budget. As a matter of fact, headphone in the $100 are range are INDEED budget. Here is a rule of thumb, $10-$30 range = Throw Away's, $50-$150 = Low End, $150 - $300 is middle of the road, $300-$600 = HIgh End, $1000+ = Ultra HIgh End. This is consumer level pricing BTW. Pro level pricing is higher than that as they need FLAT non colored High FIdelity Cans, usually open.
@Shenkoa360 I agree with you totally, but some people just want their headphones to make noises, dirty, distorted, tinny, and flat noises. you will be hard pressed to convince the ignorant. unfortunately as humans we are stubborn, and those stubborn enough to not enjoy true audio quality are only hurting themselves. Cheers to good music and those who enjoy it.
You know I always hated earbuds as well for the crappy quality. But, after reviewing them I love Purebuds. I was surprised and as an audio engineer it passed my expectations. Chris good review. And reverse sound technology!
I will pick Headphones 9/10 times usually. Earbuds are great for listening to music while walking or when working out but not for extended period of time. They are amazing at irritating my ears. They also seem to blow a lot quicker than Headphones (probably due to the limited size they have for the components). Just my two-sense (more like no sense haha) on the subject.
@cavaliers60@cavaliers60 No, Bose in Ear's are grossly overpriced and they offer sound that rivals IEM's for half the price. Imaximo Imetal IM-590 are around $50 and sound better, the Ultimate Ears MetroFI series range from $40-$70 and will SPANK the Bose.
@dcp10200 yep every single earbud "distorts" they are all the exact same. I can't believe your ability to so accurately describe it... only you forgot one thing: the word CHEAP. all cheap earbuds distort. this is not true with all earbuds. you are just cheap, which is not bad but does bias your view on things.
question: how much was the last pair of earbuds did you have? Wait don't answer, you've already answered my question. THEY WERE CHEAP. That's why they sucked jackass!
@SummerGameProject u fail to realize that in my previous comment to earthshearfullness that i said that cheap was a typo plus all ear bud no matter the price distort because the drivers used in them are too small to produce high quality sound. The result being tinny sound or sound with distorted highs mids and lows.Headphones have the proper size driver to produce a full sound plus with headphones virtual surround sound can be used with better more life like results.
@SummerGameProject plus earbuds are not good for your ears they go directly in too the inner ear which bypasses your ears natural filtering that protects you from damaging your hearing.
i prefer nicer full size over the ear headphones or some high quality earbuds. the factory ipod earbuds should be immediately thrown away and i have tried the skullcandy ones. a bit lacking but comfortable.

I am not a geek, but I love listening to music. That is either live performances or reproduced music that gets me close to the live performance. I only use earbuds when there are others around. Earbuds has all the music between my left and right ear inside my head. I don't know of a live performance that sounds like that. Grado headphones are more open, but people around me gives me dirty looks. The best sound is when I attend a live concert. People around me seem to enjoy it too.
I prefer Headphones, studio style headphones infact
they're big and bulky, BUT the sound is amazing and the comfort is amazing as well, earbuds are annoying, they always get tangled up, and they hurt my ears after awhile.
you should do a review on beats by dre headphones. they have both earbuds and like the regular headphones. i think u'd like them, but they're really pricey.
IMHO...skullcandy buds FTW, they are nice, small, and sounds VERY good for the price. they range in price depending on stores, but on average, they can be found anywhere from 10 bucks to 30 and i feel they are good. i love bass, and if you like to hear the bass in your music, i think skullcandy works hands down.If you wish not to spend alot of money and want really good sound, try skullcandy.
yeah i used my friends and it fit comfortably, sounded great and i couldn't hear anything else with them in. well i guess you could consider the last one as good and bad
Earbuds or headphones ? Depends on what I'm doing. If its out and on the street, then its definitely earbuds, but not the sound isolating type I still have to be able to hear what's going on around me. At home its nearly always headphones.

Just wondering if you know if the purebuds work with the iphone 3g as normal earbuds. I read on the website purebudsrevolution that they don't work with the iphone 3g which I don't think is true but I wanna confirm with someone who has a pair. Thanks
The Purebuds earphones have your standard 3.5mm headphone jack in which work with all MP3 players, CD players, and devices that support this normal audio input. Unfortunatley, the Apple iPhone 3G has it's own connector so you would need to have an adapter to make headphones like the Purebuds work with the iPhone. yea u would have to buy an adapter, adapters are freakin cheap, ill still buy tha ear earbuds if i were u
TheiPhone 3G has a normal headphone jack which is not recessed like the original iPhone, and so can use normal headphones and earbuds without an adaptor. However these do NOT have a microphone so you'll have to talk into the iPhone itself when receiving or placing phone calls.
I have my doubts about the "surround sound" tips. If you're plugging these into a standard 1/8" port, you can only get a 2.0 stereo signal. There's no way it can't tap into the other audio channels, and exchanging the rubber tips on the end wouldn't change that.
Anyway, I prefer earbuds. Headphones are too bulky.
I have the iPod Earphones. It's starting to fall apart because I use them so much. It costs $30. Why such a ridiculous price for plastic? Those Purebuds like really nice, but $50 is really pushing it.

I love earbuds and have been using regular sound-canceling, in-ear buds. I've had Sony and Skullcandy earbuds, but these Purebuds sound like something cool. When my Skullcandies die, I'll be picking up some Purebuds :)

I love earbuds and have been using regular sound-canceling, in-ear buds. I've had Sony and Skullcandy earbuds, but these Purebuds sound like something cool. When my Skullcandies die, I'll be picking up some Purebuds :)
