When Korn came out and incorporated small bits of rap into their songs, the term Numetal came with it. Basically Numetal was metal mixed with a bit of rap, but the rap parts were really metalic and gruff.

Stuff like Street Sweeper Social Club would be called "Rap metal" Simply because of the rap styled lyrics and the sweet riffs.

PanterA were the forefront of the thrash metal movement they helped create thrash metal. and kreator is thrash metal but its more of the new wave thrash metal. and korn is metal but it is in a sub genre of metal. numetalis not really numetal its a mix between math metal and industrial metal and post metal which is the part where korn and ratm fit in. Metal is more than harsh lyrics and screeching guitars.
