  • R.I.P. Randy!!! your my hero!!!

  • I.JUST.STARTED.HIGHSCHOOL.MY.GIRLFRIEND.SAW.RANDY.LIVE.82'..PASS.THE.BONG!

  • Vyčisti hlavu...dobré eeee super rrrr

  • This is so hard to find! Thank you, it's the first live version of this song that i ever heard

  • yeah worst day dont want to talk about it

  • Imagine how long Ozzy had been on the road without rest. It's a wonder the man could sing at all. Props to Ozzy!!!!At least he went on stage and didn't cry like a bitch like some vocalists(AXL)!!!!!!

  • Imagine how long Ozzy had been on the road with rest. It's a wonder the man could sing at all. Props to Ozzy!!!!At least he went on stage and didn't cry like a bitch like some vocalists(AXL)!!!!!!

  • I seen this concert in Minneapolis and it was a concert I will never forget, Randy was great R.I.P.

That was one cold night leaving the concert ,a fucking cold ass blizzard !

  • @neilnivek

You were them? Wow... you seen great guitarist, next this man die. RIP Randy.

  • you guys are stupid why do you think that ozzy never did this song ever again, because it sits on notes that he has trouble going in and out of, this is called the breaking point and every vocalist has it you can tell that this is clearly a song he struggles with and can only pull it off on very good nights on a bad night and a bad hangover this is what he sounds like, but hear him in the BATM tour singing the title song he kiks ass and on alot of sabbath stuff his vocals are unmistakable

  • Funny. Ozzy's drug addictions and speech impediments were all marketing bullshit. My dad had the opportunity to interview him in college during the randy days. He told me that Ozzy used is to make money. He was a commercial genius.

  • How about this? If you hear a bunch of Pinch Harmonics, its Zakk Wylde, if you hear it a little faster then usual and improvisation, its Jake E. Lee, Plus you can tell by the distortion, it has a little Chorus Flage so I thought it was Zakk Wylde at first but listening now it sounds like Randy. and if it was Gus. G then this guy has a recorder from the 1980s

  • That is Rhoads with Don Aireys annoying keyboards, he should have stayed in keyboard corner

  • オリジナルはソロをかなり崩してんな。

    生で観たかったな。

  • To everyone ho keeps saying this isn't Randy, look at the date of the show.

  • @MatzaFTW what if the date is fake u idiot -_-

  • Brad Gillis

  • @tahwnikcufos

Its Randy Rhoads not Brad Gillis

  • all of the people that wrote that this is not RR are fucking retarted

  • This is Randy 100% no question about it, Seriously, Listen to the solo... Brad went crazy on his tremolo when he played this solo. Randy pulled on the string while hammering with his other hand. which u hear him do here at 3:41 - 3:44. And you can hear his classic tone here as well. This is Randy !

  • why do (js) some people this this is gillis?? like this show is from 1/15/82 and randy tragdically died on 3/19/82 so clearly this is Randy, just gonna put that out there

  • Brad Gillis

  • Anybody else notice ozzy's voice cracking?

  • @dadair62 and this is why they didnt play this live lol

  • @dadair62 u mean like every other word? lmao

  • The scalar progression Randy uses in the 2nd lead fill motif/solo (the db harmonic minor descending) is also used in Paganini's 24th ;)

  • I got to see him 19 days before he died in Amarillo, TX.

  • its brad gillis for sure

  • Thanks for the upload! I miss the Met Center! (Greetings from Minneapolis!)

  • Far too mediocre for anything randy would have played. The Generic hair-metal harmonic dives and tremolo give away the fact it is Gillis Def not Randy, I could tell from the tone he played with, muddy and thick, with too much chorus.

  • @newfosgatesucks

This is Randy Rhoads not Gillis,,This date was before the date of Randys dead and if u go to the randy rhoads official website they have this concert on his collection Gillis never used a Jackson Concorde that its the guitar u listening in this recording

  • The Over The Mountain riff still blows me away even to this day. Its so frickin awesome. Light years beyond anything Ozzy did in Black Sabbath up to that point in time. Go Randyyyyy!!!

  • To the younger folks out there: if any of you are learning to play the guitar... and if you're looking for a role model... well, you just found him. But you already knew that, right..?

    Rock on, Randy.

  • Isn't this the ending to Diary of a Madman? Why do they all play it in the intro of Over the Mountain?

  • @Videostar1another1fa It was their opening... On their castle stage they play snippets of Diary while "OZZY" flashed and there was a bunch of pyro and there Ozzy sits on a throne while Rudy and Randy are behind these gates the come up... So cool... Hopefully we can get a DVD of it... You can see like a few seconds of it on YouTube, search for like "Rare randy lift" or something

  • @Videostar1another1fa It's called "RANDY RHOADS EXTREMELY RARE LEG LIFT FOOTAGE HIGH QUALITY"

  • you cant tell its Brad.......from the first chord i could

  • @1968invader

No it is certainly Randy.Listen to Brads Speak Of The Devil DVD version. You can hear the difference.

  • my bad thats him

  • that is not randy on this track its brad gillis

  • Can someone explain the trick he's doing in the picture? Is he doing a trill while using his right hand the lift or bend the string?

  • @eramir228 Yeah, that is what he does in the over the mountain 1st guitar solo, you can hear it at 3:43

  • where did u get this picture.......can I have a link?

  • What is the setlist for this show? The bootleg from this show doesn't have this song or Diary on it... It's the same setlist they usually played, I've never actually heard a Randy show with those two songs... Can anyone help with the setlist?

  • @TheBellTollsForMe They never played Diary live

  • @TheBellTollsForMe They never played Diary live. They used it for intro music

  • I hate to say this, but Ozzy's vocals kind of ruined this for me. Don't get wrong, I love Randy, but Ozzy's "singing" is like fingernails on a chalkboard at times.

  • @DeanVX05 Either he had too much drugs or too little before the show.

  • What song is that in the beginning

  • What is the song in the beginning

  • Im glad I dont have dumb comments like this on my wall

  • awesome guitar... awfull vocals... Randy Rhoads is the reason why Ozzy's carreer started in the right direction, without him he would be nothing

  • @mikelilloillo No, without Randy, Ozzy would have been "That guy that used to front Black Sabbath."

  • Thanks!!! I am seeing Ozzy tonight and now I am all psyched up ! Have seen him every tour since Brad was in the band...and I remember when they played in Richmond Va with Randy but could not get a ride that far...(does the Ozzy hands and smiles)

  • you guys are crazy... you try screaming at the top of your lungs balls out like he does still.

Randy's awesome but really Black Sabbath was around before Randy Rhoads

And how many albums did they put out together??

Ozzy is the man so is Randy

  • My God!

    R.I.P Randy

  • Is there a recording of Randy playing Diary Of A Madman live?

  • @darthinfurnus They never played Diary live.

  • why would dis ozzy losers tony lommi can fak off they were all on drugs numb nuts sounds great to me the guitar is whats rough here randy prob drunk that day but this still gold

  • 4:14 "I'm not a goldfish" XD

  • RANDY WAS AND STILL IS THE SHIT.................

  • Funny all the Ozzy bashers out there. True Ozzy's voice isn't 100% 100% of the time but it is still very unique and very hard to imitate. It's not to the caliber of a Rob Halford or Bruce Dickenson but he has his place in history. Remember, when he did this song, it was at the height of his substance abuse. Also to mention, have you been to an Ozzfest? Have you seen the 30,000 people that stay and chant his name the whole time? Yeah his guitarist carried him for 40 years. Get real people!

  • March, 19, 1982... Worst day in history.

  • @mrdeersniper hey thats my birthday

  • @mrdeersniper OMFG 85 GREATEST GUITARIST WTF SERIOUSLY!!!!!!

  • @mrdeersniper ...bad day for sure, but Dec,8,2004 was more of a shock.....R.I.P. Randy and Dime!

  • The audio sounds distorted at some parts of this...?

  • playing live is like having sex.

How would u like to have everytime u had sex recored and have others rate it

  • Iknow why they got the playback of ozzys voice in the other version O_O

  • this is not Randy or Jake its Brad Gillis.

  • @Shaggzila This is actually Randy, look at the date 1/15/1982 Randy was still alive then

  • this is deff not randy rhoads it sounds to much like Jake E Lee Style

  • It sounds like its Jake E Lee doesnt sound anything like randy would play

it and it might just say 1/15/82 to get more views so you never know.

  • @jacobbookey777 If you're a true Randy fan, then you would know that this is Randy Rhoads. You can tell by the tone, style, etc. I have every Rhoads bootleg including this one. Its not Jake E Lee, he didn't come along till later.

  • @jacobbookey777 YEA THIS ITS RANDY RHOADS I HAVE THE BOOTLEG AND I HAVE ALL RANDY RHOADS MUSIC

  • U know whats really sad, is to hear someone comment on JAKE E. LEES personal life. go listen to r e m . who are u ? ANN LANDERS

  • Ozzy really wasn't the best singer ever xD I mean the drugs fecked his performance totally

  • Sad to hear that Jake E Lee is a meth head...

  • @scottsway Are you sure?

  • @mrdeersniper Well that is the rumor... living in a trailer, broke, teeth decaying, playing occasional gigs which some real shady characters, etc.... damn shame..

  • @scottsway I doubt he turned to meth. I saw a video from November of 09 and it didn't look like he was doing meth.

  • Its interesting to hear how Randy uses different effects once he brings the show out on tour. I have a few different live versions of Randy doing this and the effects in every solo are used differently... He liked experimenting with sounds and effects and used them very well.

  • @carouselcarouse In an interview towards the end he admitted he used less and less effects live and that it was added at the soundboard!

  • @petermuskett Thats interesting to know, so its maybe a case of the sound engineer or guitar tech experimenting live?

  • Good Lord, you do realize that Jimmy Page is still alive, right? I think you meant Jimmy Hendrix!

  • well when you consider the amount of drugs ozzy was doing its amazing he didnt die much less sing as well as he did and still does

  • poor sound quality and randy still makes it sound good. this solo gives me a chill down my spine. so amazing rip randy

  • RR IZ UP THERE WITH JIMMY PAIGE!

  • Randy has a nasty tone for this version

  • @buzzsaw177 I like it... its thick and dirty

  • If only Randy was still alive....

    Mainstream pop wouldn't exist, then.

  • This is one of the best Ozzy songs ever.

  • @mrdeersniper just not this performance of it:)

  • @DethTilDeath69 Yeah. I like the studio recording a little better. The studio version has more guitar quality.

  • ozzy sounds like he has a cold!

  • @madman8451 If he did, i wouldnt blame him. It gets pretty cold up here in MN in January.

  • I'm a huge fan of Ozzy, don't get me wrong, but is he getting strangled right now?

  • Great tune , Randy was Ozzy's Cliff Burton . without him , he only floated gently out of the stratosphere coasting upon the greatness that Randy elevated him to .

  • @scyclonebeesr true but and jusice came after his dath and that was a great album but yea their others sucked

  • @scyclonebeesr

    look at this way man

When we die we get to see the best band in the universe.

    Vocals: Bon Scott or DIO

    Bass: Cliff Burton

    Guitar: Randy Rhoads

    Drums: Randy Castilo

  • @frobinhood sorry have to disagree with some of your picks: Vocals: Freddie Mercury; Bass: John Entwistle Guitar: Jimi Hendrix; Drums: John Bonham or Keith Moon.

  • @bostonu2002

This is ment to be about Randy Rhoads and no 1 else.

They are the people that would fit him the best.

  • Randy rules !!! Oh and ozzy too !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow Ozzy's voice was really off in this song but Randy was his usual great self. Randy did not have off days. He's the best guitarist ever.

  • What is the intro song?

  • @rcs93 It's the end of Diary of a Madman.

  • Thank you I have looked for an authentic Live version of this song with RR for years Now I can hear the master do this as it should be done THANK YOU

  • have difrferent pics pop up at least!!

  • Randy was the best of the best

And Ozzy is singing horribly on live, anyway, he has an amazing voice...

  • it was Black Sabbath, Randy Rhoads (RIP), Brad Gillis, Jake E. Lee then Zakk Wylde

  • @qtrlberwxch and now gus g

  • drop D?

  • I was on the air at my college radio station when word came of Randy's death. We blasted all of his tunes!

  • if ozzys voice was cleaner he may have put more of the madman songs on the live album

  • today is the anniversary of the death of in my opinion one of the greatest guitarists and musical influences. the music randy was blessed with still to this day lives on. those who are given the gift will always be remember. thanks ozz for all the cool songs that you and randy jammed. by the way over the mountain rocks!

  • o my god mmk ppl zakk wylde is shit he sux so much ass ther isn a word 2 describe how bad he is the man cant fucking play guitar he never could he jst got kicked outa Ozzy 4 a reason mmk now tht thts clear, Randy is god only better end of story.

  • Randy is better, better than ALL of them, yes. However as you sit there repeatedly saying Zakk cannot play guitar at all, I'd willingly bet money that you can't play better.

  • I prefer Chris Impellitteri's version of this song.

  • They all have their styles. Randy just played guitar so clean!!!

  • @yawillyyama And thats why I consider him to be the best guitarest that ever lived. Shame he died at age 26. R.I.P Randy

  • @buzzsaw177 Randy died at 25.

  • Woah, sounds like ass.

  • I know I wish Sharon and Ozzy would release the professional recordings, both audio and video. I'm tired of crappy audio and blurry videos

  • Berne Torme's recordings are just awful. Though, he stepped in some pretty big shoes. Brad did a better job. Joe Holmes is okay. He'll never be better than his master. :)

  • I feel bad for many of Ozzy's guitarists

    I mean look at:

    Bernie Torme- Who?

Brad Gillis- Records half of the guitar work for 1 or 2 hit wonder Night Rander

Jake E. Lee- In a band called Badlands, no one's ever heard of him

    Joe Holmes- Who?

Zakk Wylde- Now a very drunk man, messed up

Can't you just wait to see what happens to the young Gus G.?

  • Who the fuck are you?

  • Does it matter?

  • Good post. I have often thought the same.

  • @goodygoody23 zakk has a great career right now u dont know shit

  • He's a drunk. I'd rather be shredding out in local bars than be permanently wasted and make millions. He's a mess, he started out as a brilliant guitarist, and the fame and alcohol has ruined him. Just look up his vid where he showcases Randy's marshall, its a disgrace what has happened to that great guitarist.

  • @goodygoody23 JESUS CHRIST DUDE HE QUIT DRINKING CUZ OF HIS BLOOD CLOTS. PLUS THAT WAS A JOKE FOR GUITAR WORLD DUDE LISTEN TO BLS MAFIA OR SHOT TO HELL HE SOUNDS GREAT ON THOSE SO YEAH.

  • plus he is hated for "trying to replace Randy"

I AM NOT ONE OF THOSE HATERS but he filled the shoes of an irreplacable guitarist, so he adds his own style to the music and gets criticized.

  • @goodygoody23 agreed on that my friend

  • I really wish he would get more credit for his BLS stuff, but once again he gets overrated, then hated for playing with Ozzy, Not a good way to live

  • @goodygoody23-he's all about the bls image now,and he is always criticizing "posers" mean while he was the one who co-stared in the movie rock star and has his own line of guitars and amps ect...

  • 1. RR

    2. Jake E. Lee

    3. Brad Gillis

    4. Zakk Wylde

    5. Gus G (Haven't heard new album yet....could be higher)

  • Dude gus sucks, this is the proper order:

    Randy

    Jake

    Brad

    Joe Holmes

    Zakk

  • Sry bout that last response i thot u were saying who was best, never mind, but u are missing joe holmes and Alex Skolick

  • goody goody, You forgot Bernie Torme' between Randy and Brad.

  • never heard of him, was he like Brad, only there for a little while?

  • man ozzy failed at singing this one

  • @goodygoody23 no wonder! The guy was SO fucking stoned or drunk or both during tours with Rhoads. I'd feel like shit if I was as good a player as Rhoads was and having to play with a loser who always forgets the lyrics.

    Rest in peace, Randy Rhoads.

  • @YuppiBum well Randy shoulda felt good about himself cuz he still made the music sound good, even with Ozzy's incompatibility

  • @goodygoody23 So true...

  • @goodygoody23 He sure fucking did. XD

  • @goodygoody23 nah, it's this particular track. It has deteriorated over the years. I was at this show and this was the opening tune and Ozzy sounded awesome. It was actually at what was know as the "Met Center" in Bloomington MN. It was torn down and now the Mall Of America stands there. Anyway, some tracks from this show sound good, others are deteriorated allot, like this one. It was great live. It opened with the opening track of D.O.A.M. and then burst to Over The mountain. It was LOUD!!!

  • @BillionYears oh well thats good. Haha im sure it was loud he was about as heavy as they got at that point

  • @BillionYears im sure it was amazing all these spoiled 19 year old know it alls complain about rare bootlegs, soundboard tapes and some the best archives ever floating around, instead they have the nerve to bitch and complain..this generation of kids are faggots, they have nooo idea how easy they have it

  • @goodygoody23 Thats what drinking and drugs will do to ya

  • @goodygoody23 Very true. Ozzy's voice cracked almost every five seconds. Was never a big fan of Ozzy or vintage Sabbath. It was Ozzy's guitarists that brought him fame and fortune (Rhoads, Gillis, Lee, Wylde).

  • @DiamondDEK its true, ozzy just had the name. It was Iommi and Rhoads that really gave him fame

  • Randy set the standard. The baddest in the land..

  • wtf?

  • R.I.P. Randy!! May you blow all the other dead guitarists in Heaven away!!!

  • @Knucklehed4 except for cliff burton

  • Ah but I said guitarists ^.^ but in the case of bassists, yeah Cliff pwns.

  • FUCK YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • あの華奢な身体でものすごい音の厚みのあるリフ!

    I miss you Randy!

  • wow, he's better live than in studio ..

  • davyaelmans....

What you just wrote about Randy was so f'in beautiful, it about teared me up...

I bought my first guitar the day after Blizzard came out...No words can really explain his playing except maybe "TOO SHORT"...

    R.I.P. RR

  • best ozzy guitarists:

    1 randy rhoads

    4 zakk wylde

    5 jake e. lee

there is no place 2 and 3 cus they are for RR too. he's way out of zakks and jakes league

    RIP Rhandy roads

  • Randy was Ozzy's first guitarist as a solo career.

  • i know this, i was wondering if jake e lee was before zakk wylde

  • Then yeah. It was Jake from 83-87, and Zakk from 88-09.

  • yeah thats what i thought

  • @killingsense yah but there was brad gillis for the rest of the tour i think then jake for bark at the moon

  • @killingsense and definitely the most gifted one
