Get that bird (Straga) a proper fitting hood Jim. Look at footage 2:47- 2:50 i'm suprised the bird's cere isn't abraided by chafing. All about the bird man!
No, not every day. I've been a falconer for 26 years here in UT (search birdguy888) and the prey, the starlings, learn quickly that they are not welcome there. Some days you'll fly the falcon just for exercise and to keep it sharp and keen because there may not be any starlings around but the birds still need to be flown and as Jim mentioned, they usually won't kill them in that area. Falcons require vastly open fields for proper hunting/killing, especially for falconry purposes.
Thats great, but would'nt she need to be flying around up there daily to keep the birds away? Netting is a pain especially when you get the growth coming through!
