  • @Seattlecarnut this album has comforted over the years, ,,march of the pharoahs is one of my all time feel good songs

  • folks dont even know the truth, gezz ask if wish accurate info.

  • @daviddcurtison Mark O'Connor's people notified me that he was thirteen years old when this was recorded. I had erroneously written that he was fourteen. The mistake was totally mine. I hope I am forgiven.

  • I loved Winfield KS Bluegrass/Flatpicking Festival. I saw Mark perform there along with Norman Blake, Tut Taylor, Alison Krauss, and a host of others in 1974 and 1975. I've lived far away from the Midwest a long time, but I still follow Bluegrass. Mark O'Connor came and performed in a local high school's beautiful new Arts Theatre building in Ipswich, Massachusetts near where I live now. He has got to be one of the most sincere and unaffected stars I've ever met.

  • I bought the same album the same year at Winfield. Still have it; one of my favorites

  • Thanks for uploading, George.

Do you have any more songs off this excellent album you could share with us?

  • Does anyone have a tab of Mark's guitar part?

  • These pictures must have been taken during the severe razor shortage of the 70's.

  • I'm listening to Mark O'Connor right now. My favourite album/cd is called On The Mark. It features "March of the Pharoahs", "Bowtie" and "Pacific Expectations", my favourite music pieces by Mark O'Connor.

  • I have this album too..Great musician..

  • Wait. Is that Mark on guitar at 1:00 at 14 years old? That's unreal.

  • What a fine musician and artist he has grown - and is continuing to grow - into! Check out Mark's myspace page. A delight in every way!

  • i use to have this on tape - what wonderful music he put out at the age of 14 - incredible

  • I have this record too. Actually, I have everything he ever recorded. Nice post.

  • Wonderful history lesson. Seeing Mark play brings back fond musical memories of his many performances on TNN's "The American Music Shop."
