A percent or two drop in consumer prices isn't enough of a deflationary force to counteract the highly inflationary (soon to be hyperinflationary?) force of the $8.5 trillion in pledged money to the banking industry. The Fed is more or less doubling the dollar supply in circulation... *that* is what will tremendously reduce the purchasing power of a dollar
