I've heard this when I got its first released video from a Filipino friend who's a member of that church, and had the video embedded in facebook profile many years ago. The choir director's interpretation of the arranged Filpino Folk Song "Paruparong Bukid" is superb and creative, that I have to listen to it many times.
haha. WEW its un believable that this song where phillipines originated it was sung by the americans. weW unfortunately unbelievable beacause other filipinos didn't care the folk songs of their country. :))
its good to know there are people from other part of the world gave importance and sing filipino folk song in such great rendition....thank you GREAT...
thanks for the post. it's a filipino folk song. paru-paru literally means "butterfly". it talks about a a local country girl who is compared to a butterfly. the dance and movements are suppose to be like a butterfly, =)
@jamespaul24 no! they are australian! :D they sing this song bcoz. almost 50% people in that church are filipino! and the coach of that choir group is a half filipino :) .
@kenxtinction Am an English educator. It means, the Filipinos are proud of this ingenious group delivering the Tagalog song beautifully and excellently. Now, do you comprehend?
@Jiajia08... if you drink coke in can... are you staring on it? you absorb the taste right? its a song rendition not a declamation piece... btw im also an ENGLISH EDUCATOR... yet i only used logic than my degree to appreciate...
THANK YOU Northwest Missouri State University Madraliers for the wonderful rendition of a classic Filipino folk song!! you are greatly appreciated here in the Philippines!!
its nice to hear that other nationalities sing those Filipino songs, wich forgotten by his own country men.. and im proud to say "PINOY AKO"... MABUHAY ANG PINOY
Yes! I said so didn't I? who else said it? This song isn't about God at all. It's about a butterfly which wouldn't fit for a church song. Don't be such and idiot.
@SunshineQueenable now you are starting to name call me. and coming from someone who knows a lot about what is not supposed to be sang in church...I bet you know a lot about God because you seem to know a lot about church. Indeed. Christians are the most narrow-minded, name-calling people I have ever met. One of them is you. and take note, if you believe in your God, do remember that butterflies are supposed to be made by your God, so baket di pwedeng kantahin ang song na yan sa church?
Correction to your English "you starting calling me names". Anywho, I am not a Christian and I don't believe in God. What I'm saying is that if church is a place to worship God then why not sing about God? and the lyrics wasn't saying about butterflies made from God, it says and only talks about the "butterfly" you get me? Their song doesn't fit to their "church". It doesn't surprise me! look at the title there. "CHARICE GLEE Paru-Parong Bukid" does the video fits to the title?
@SunshineQueenable relax lang teh! ang PUSO! lol. For an atheist like you, you are quite concern as to what to be sang in church. lol. I am an atheist you know but I don't object to this song being sang inside the church walls, because for me it is a celebration of life. Well, obviously that's just me and not you. Hay naku and then I would get an angry reply from you after this. lol. Sige lang. Go ahead. Merry Christmas to you! Oh well I forgot you don't believe in God so I take it back lol
can't believe my eyes, i mean my ears... if you cover your eyes and listen to this video, you'll be greatly surprise to find out who actually sings...

You guys did a good job. But I noticed that some of them are not smiling while singing the song, "Paru-Parong bukid" is a happy song. ANd it would have been better if the choreography was synchronized. But regarding the diction, the harmony, it was really good. Thanks for singing our song.(I'm a proud Filipino)
Lots of research done with this performance, the accent ( I cannot even tell that this is being sang by americans), the dancing/movement of the women and men are hardcore oldschool filipino folkdance. I am impressed. Good job!
