I once had a pc had the virus protection added and updated it once it was outdated. I had it for a year and that piece of crap crashed, I tried to restore it to factory settings and nothing happened. It was now useless. I had my iMac for one year now and it runs just as smoothly as the day I first bought it.

My Mac crashes so much. Most of the times it's while watching a YouTube video. I just restarted it a few minutes ago. I was watching this video and then clicked on another one. Then it crashed. Perfect.

When I installed my new graphics card I needed to restart after I installed all the new drivers. But of course it's only some of the really big things that require you to restart, but they're the same kind of software that requires Macs to restart

I had a mac brand new for 5min it it got a blue screen then I took it back and got a pc guess what 4 monts in it never freesed no blue screens and very fast loading time.
I love the fact I've only experienced one crash on my Mac (kernel panic) the entire time I've used it.
Then again, I'm usually very careful with what I do on it, and I know where to tinker, and where not to tinker, what software to install, and which to avoid, and basic maintenance practices.
Two of our School Macs got the spinning beachball of death (at the same day), and after restarting they got a flashing folder with a question mark (means that the hardware is unable to detect the operating system). Why not make a video about that?

My parents' laptop has Vista Premium; my sister's laptop has Vista Basic (resets everytime I close the screen). Time to upgrade the Laptops to Windows 7 and 4GB of memory.

Every Mac that I have saw with Snow Leopard running on it crashes almost frequently. So Apple can shove off with trying to prove it doesn't crash. All Computers crash.

the education macs freeze up like anything and your fucked. at least on a pc you have a chance to fix it.. but ive never had a freeze on a high end mac. just the POS educational cheapo's. My PC (with Windows OS) has about 30 days average uptime, and I only restart it for updates...
You need good hardware components and no shitty drivers (kernel mode software), and mostly that's it.
I would like to see how Mac OS X does on those (crap) HW windows runs on.
And Mac is a PC (Personal Computer).
Also Linux runs on PC (among other things like industrial equipment, or embedded hw like every network router) so I guess this is supposed to be 'Mac OS X vs Windows'

@Setragian Yes, but PC's get restarted VERY often. Your macbook is probably defected, I've had mine for over 6 months and I have not run into ANY problems, not once. My charger is perfect, I never ran out of memory, and more. You probably got either a defective mac, you are very careless and overworked it, or possibly something else. Go to your local apple store to check that out.

For everyone that says Macs are inferior because of gaming, guess what? you know that little thing called steam? probably the biggest online gaming community? ITS ON THE MAC NOW.

@Ultimacomanda47 90% of the games on Steam are still PC exclusive. Not to mention you can't upgrade your Mac's graphics, you have to get it integrated when Apple sends it to you, and since Apple overprices anything, you'll be looking at about 500 dollars for a 200 dollar graphics card.

I have a Mac and a PC, and
1. The online community is still 95% PC gamers who were using Steam before it went on the Mac. Bad point.
2. Not enough games for Mac, mostly just casual cartoon/indie games.
3. Most of those games were for Mac already anyway.
4. Steam is just a distribution platform, you could get most of the Mac games on it before in a random store anyway. Or on a website.

Buying a mac is like buying a car that is only compatible with 10% of the roads.
I just don't understand how any logical thinking person could be happy with a mac if they are aware of what a machine running windows/linux is capable of. Anything a mac can do, a machine running windows can do, not only can it match the capabilities of a mac, it can exceed a macs capabilities. And if you are like me, newegg is your friend which makes macs a natural enemy.

Windows is still better than MacOS. The only reason why people think that MacOS is better is that Apple does more advertising. Everyone uses windows and thats why Microsoft has to put more work into Security because there are more Viruses for it. And if you really think that MacOS is better than Windows and you'll never have to restart it because it's frozen you are wrong.

@Setragian Yes, but PC's get restarted VERY often. Your macbook is probably defected, I've had mine for over 6 months and I have not run into ANY problems, not once. My charger is perfect, I never ran out of memory, and more. You probably got either a defective mac, you are very careless and overworked it, or possibly something else. Go to your local apple store to check that out.

@antonspi i've owned a mac for 2 years and while it hasn't ever actually 'crashed', it has presented a much larger amount of problems than any windows pc i've had. Except for that one that had a faulty circuit in the motherboard, that thing pissed me right off...
