Yep, Been there, doing that. Got out a year ago after 5 years. My son was born 2 weeks after my arrest. 2 this day I’ve not seen him, let alone give him a hug & say "Daddy loves you." Was working 4 months, never missing a day, moved up the ladder, till 1 day I went to an AA meeting & shared about it. A guy I was locked up with said his relative worked there. I ask him to NOT say anything to her about seeing me. He said not to worry. Few days later I get pulled & told I had to leave. Coincidence?
I understand this song completely... I screwed up a few years ago, and ending up almost stabbing my cousin... The cops came and took all my knives away, i was never allowed to hold a weapon, and i was kicked out school for 2 weeks.. probation for a year, and reputation that will last a lifetime, ive attempted to get several jobs, but.. they never call me back. I was allowed into the Army (Sgt. pulled strings.) and i went depressed while there, now they wont even let me back.... one second chance

I just found this song on another YouTube video and it spoke right to me. The way I have been living my life hasn't always been the "right" way and now I see that I don't have to keep living my life this war and that now I can change who I am and be a better person then what I have been.

I've been following Jeff for 6 years and for some reason the radio stations won't play Jeff. Every woman on a mission has tried for years to get Jeff played more on the radio. The radio played Long Slow Kisses and The Love song because they were in the top 20 and they played Good People one time because Jeff was in concert here in sc the week that Good People came out. I hate the fact that Jeff isn't played and I have to drive for hours to see Jeff in person to here his wonderful voice.

The only thing that you can do is pray. The person that you love has to hit rock bottom so to speak before you can help them. They have to want help themselves. My advice would be to pray that they will want help. God is stronger than any addiction and He has the strength to see you and your birth father through this.

So, im addicted to drugs and Im an alcoholic. this song as put an imput on my life. It gives me hope that I will change one day. I just need to believe in my self and I just need to get straight with God. I would really like to meet this artist, so i can tell him how i feel about this song. I listen to this song everyday, and it just gives me more and more hope.

My brother is in jail right now for somethin stupid. He will be in there till Dec 23. two days before christmas. He has a baby boy & the babies momma is part of why he is sitting in jail right now. He is gonna turn his life around!

this was the way my dad was.except he did it to get him beer.and that turned him to where he had nothing to do with me.im his only child and it hurts that he would rather drink then see his only child.he told me that he hated me and that if he could take back the day my mom had me he would.but the thing is i still love my dad and i always will. i just wish he would change but i kno he wont.

Im 18 now. And when i was about 3 years old. And my father did this same thing and i remeber him lying to me countless times and i really didnt understand why. And now he is 3 years clean. I've been following Jeff for 6 years and for some reason the radio stations won't play Jeff. Every woman on a mission has tried for years to get Jeff played more on the radio. The radio played Long Slow Kisses and The Love song because they were in the top 20 and they played Good People one time because Jeff was in concert here in sc the week that Good People came out. I hate the fact that Jeff isn't played and I have to drive for hours to see Jeff in person to here his wonderful voice.

Really hits home. I've been working a job making between eighty and a hundred thousand a year for five years now. I was only eighteen when I started and being young with that much money got me into a lot of trouble with drugs. Sober for ten months now and finally able to say I'm not living paycheck to paycheck just to feed an addiction

im only 13 and about 4 months ago i went to juvee for breaking and entering arinsted and vandalism it got my 3 months and in those three months when i was siting there i read the bible and when i got out i had lost everything no freinds all my teachers where ashemed of me and i just wanted to give up and then my freinds are starting to come bak. ppl r starting to respect me more and im just getting a second chance

Thanks Jeff, We all don't get a Second Chance...I was aquitted of the crime they attempted against me; I received authorities finally apprehend a pardon from the death penalty, an the real criminal is still out their. I got my Second Chance; Keep up the good you do, for it returns back to you.

I watched my meth addicted uncle hold a gun to my dads throat.. his own brother. All my dad could do was cry and tell him how much he loved him, he put his gun down when he heard that. He's been clean for 7 year's now.

This is the most powerful song of forgiveness that I have ever heard. It has truly touched my heart. I want to thank Jeff Bates for having the courage and strength to make this song and video. A lot of people would not have this much courage to admit they had been addicted. Congrats on being drug free!

this song has brought tears to my eyes....My birth father is a full blown drug addict & alcoholic.. He is 41 & he has been this way Since his 20's... I feel imma never get my dad back... Rehab doesnt help, Jail doesnt help.. Can anyone tell me what is going to help.. I even tried praying! My dad doesnt love me he has hurt us all & I am just so broken inside now!!!

The only thing that you can do is pray. The person that you love has to hit rock bottom so to speak before you can help them. They have to want help themselves. My advice would be to pray that they will want help. God is stronger than any addiction and He has the strength to see you and your birth father through this.
