I do want to expand on the "gateway drug" theory: from what I've read, it's a "gateway drug" because of it's illegality, just as usage of marijuana increased during prohibition (because when people went to buy alcohol illegally, they find everything else on the black market). Making it legal would actually remove that problem entirely (because has anyone ever went to a store these days to buy beer and find they offer crack?).

I agree. I see that it's absurd, that our Doctors recommend this as a medical drug for the sick. A drug, that a patient can grow in his or her own property with very little maintenance. Marijuana is the top cash crop in 12 states and among the top three cash crops in 30, according to a new study. Considering when made marijuana illegal, they said "IF you smoke it, you will be closer to SATAN!" How are you going to trust the government with that misguiding information?
