  • How beautiful........I love india arie, BUT HE takes the cake for this one......

  • he sang this at the idols live he made my heart melt beautiful!!

  • LORD THANK GOD FOR BIG MIKE>>>HE's AMAZING!!!

  • He should have never been voted off before Casey. He is amazing!!

  • oh my goodness...when he sings songs like this and this womans work i get goosebumps all over...too bad he got eliminated this past week....cant wait for him to put out a cd....

  • i love this song he sings it so great

  • This young man surely is not being his true self. He knows he would rather bust out in some Teddy Pendergrass LOL! But how could he really be himself ? Its American Idol.... A show that denounces true blackness by chastizing R & B singers for what they describe as... over singing. WTH? I dont care how many stars they invite to that show. This was the most boring year ever and they will have less viewers next year.

  • @TheMidcoast1 I'll disagree with the first part of what you've written. There is something about singers who play acoustic guitar -they hear through the instrument, and if they have a powerful voice like Mike, the songs are not heavily laden with instruments. As for the second part, you are correct, and unfortunately this season, both AI and So You Think You Can Dance had judges who chastised Black performers for being...Black.

  • @mukazzi Thanks 4the reply mukazzi I just think we hav taken 50 steps backwards. We used 2 celebrate blackness n r music & art.. remember Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Jackie Wilson, early Michael Jackson etc. ? Why do we allow ppl to treat us like an embarrassment on these shows. Not just music shows either. I hate it when shows like the Bachelor treat blk women as if they dont exist & blk men r always the ones pining over one white chick. We dont speak up..all we do is spk against each other.

  • @TheMidcoast1 The last sentence is beyond true. We can't hold others accountable for backward thinking if WE'RE shuffling along BEHIND it. Idle curiosity might make me watch one episode of the auditions OR the actual "showcase" -because that's exactly what AI and SYTYCD are: showcases of talent where some of the 'professional' comments sound like unhappy people trying to nurse a drunken happy hour.Recommendation: pick up any book by Donald Bogle.

  • @mukazzi Thanks for the enlightment mukazzi. I will explore his writings. I dont know if you've heard but JLO is going to be one of the judges this year...Someone who knows a heck of a lot about real music..right! I only wish the younger pop would stop being so brainwashed into thinking that color doesnt matter with these shows. Often times they come back heartbroken & angry. Remember the young blk male from last year who was disqualified 4 no reason? Were they bold or what with that decision.

  • @TheMidcoast1. Ahhh...so it's official for J-Lo. The group dynamic was: the performer/ producer (if Randy would just STOP mentioning Journey); the performer; and the record executive who SIGNS the check. Paula was cheerleader/"Mama Bear"; this was not Kara nor Ellen (after she got off the stage and hugged the contestant, I lost a little respect for her). I don't remember that young man because he was gone in a blink of any eye and out of mind as fast. Not uncommon...

  • @mukazzi I wish u could remember this young man b/c this situation was unique and it stood out. He was a heavy set, dark complexion, possible short Af. Am yng man. His mom talked about his abilities & supported him alot. I remember during final auditions he came out screening sayn that Simon told him that nothing was wrong with him.... that the only reason he wasnt selection was that he wasnt right 4 the competition. We all knew what that meant. Now thats when I lost respect for the entire show.

  • @TheMidcoast1 I didn't see a great deal of the auditions up to the top 12 (my loss of respect, and the rapidly diminishment of respect of what the show was about began a couple of years ago. Simon saying "he wasn't right for the competition" translated to "I can't market you, and I don't want to spend the money trying." With only a one year contract, he was looking for a highly marketable and popular singer. This season's blatant push to vote for Lee just did it for me.

  • @mukazzi Yeah your probably right about those translations from Simon but doesnt that give you this feeling though. Its almost like the music business has become so shallow... filled with individuals who have the look but no talent and designed merely to bring in the bucks. We are spoon feed these studio created artist on a regular. This will really hurt the younger generation in the long run.

  • this is the best beautiful song...

  • This is by far one of the BEST perfomances of the season. This is a great song and big mike made the song even better than it was originally

  • I never ever heard this song before Michael Lynche sang it on American Idol. It's just so beautiful and he sang it so beautifully, I am a great fan of whoever wrote it and the song itself. Michael, take a bow, this is just so beautiful. Oh, and thank you India Arie and the other songwriter who wrote this.

  • ABSOLUTELY beautiful.

  • no way he is a personal training. He rushed this song. Listen to the original

  • wonderfull, someone like him doesn't need american idol to be a superstar!!!!

  • superb

  • Wow, Beautiful Song, Beautiful voice..................perfect choice of song. Love it A+++
