I am hoping to adopt in haiti where i was born to adopt children has soon as possible . A friend of my husband whos a nun wrote that she has 400 children inthe orphanage which usually take 150 .
We looked into adoption, but in the end we used IVF.. My wife had our twins at 47 years old,we used Wake Forest fertility clinic and Baby Steps Egg donor agency...

It's true that a baby is a baby, no matter where they are from. However, in America the system is much different and it can be very hard to adopt an infant if that's what you desire. Also, many times orphans are simply in much worse situations than orphans in the US, depending on where you adopt from.
Rather than adoption overseas, why not contribute money to organizations that will help people with family planning services and birth control. Adoption is just putting a band aid on a bigger problem.
Nationally or Internatioanlly a baby is a baby, it doesn't matter what race or ethnicity he is. He is an human being who needs a loving family and a home.
Maddie was abducted May 3rd 2007 in Portugal. She is just six years old. Please if you have any information call +44 845 838 4699 now. Go to my youtube channel for pictures and more info.
International adoption has become a very recent trend because of celebrities. However, it is important to remember that there are very many hard to place babies in the US that need adopting as well! I hope more people consider adopting these children as time goes on, they all need homes.
anyone who adopts a child is a special person. but why are so many americans open to adopting transracially with asian/chinese children, but not african american/hispanic children? the amount of minority children sitting in foster homes because lack of adoptive parents is ridiculous
ya but the reality of it is that there still almost 200,000 kids each year in the U.S. waiting to be adopted, kids in our own towns, cities, and communities that need families. i guess people turn to international adoption because they can get babies or relatively young kids, while here its hard to adopt a newborn/baby, and most kids eligible for adoption are older and come with more baggage.
It looked more like Love than "self-glorifying" to me, but you are welcome to your opinion. Just wish people would consider these 3 points before posting their opinions. Facts and opinions are often different.
If you have a story, please share so we can understand your comment because it sounded hateful rather than helpful. My wife and I plan to adopt so please share so we know what you do.
If you would like to adopt a child internationally and you reside within the USA, check the US State Dept website to insure that the adoption agency in the USA is accredited. The USA has ratified and implemented the Hague agreement on international adoption, which focuses on the protection and welfare of children.
Poloniawarrior - The natural birth mother does not need to adopt her own child. Any birth mother may keep and raise their baby.
Tarchomraicer - Attorney fees are not required for all internationally adopted children. If you compare the costs of prenatal care, delivery, childcare, clothing, food/shelter, and medical care of a birth child to that of the fees in an international adoption, you'll realize that the costs of adoption seem quite reasonable.
It can cost more than $20,000. But, there are many organizations that help families afford adoptions--like the one that Steven Curtis Chapman created.
Of course, some countries costs are lower than others. And, each adoption agencies have different fees. Your best bet would be to email an agency and ask about a specific country.
The babies don't "cost" anything. There are fees that must be paid, like to the foreign country. Be careful how you say things--people will be offended.
I was adopted from Mexico, living in Canada and proud of it!

There are children all over the world need homes. Why would you want to limit yourself to an American child?

Actually about 50,000 children are adopted from foster care each year and about 20,000-30,000 are adopted from private domestic agencies.
Only about 19,000 children were adopted internationally in 2008 and of those, only about 4,000 were Cinese children.

the people in this vid are ridiculously self-glorifying
shame there is nothing mentioned about the birth mothers or the option of supporting the birth mothers :/

Regarding your comment, please consider 3 things:
1. Is it true?
2. Is it kind?
3. Is it necessary?

Can the natural birth mother adopt her own baby or can only people with money adopt?

How much are the fees? Is there a big profit for the lawyers, etc., or is there some way to get a discount?
