  • yeah bud stance and form is one of the most crucial elements of proper pistol shooting. id imagine you dont hit your target too often with the way you shoot. and as far as the sti breaking down and it taking weeks to fix its a 1911 any competent gunsmith shouldnt have a problem making it run again. that and sti guns dont break down.......

  • Drop leg holster without a vest? Yeah, not so much.

  • Considering that the STI edge, steel master etc are limited class competition pistols. They are made to shave 10ths of a second off of a sub 30 second run. Might be more realistic if you keep to tactical / production pistols glock hk etc if your looking for post apoc type.

  • nice STI EDGE,i want to buy also, where did you buy your gun? did you experience any jams or malfunction?

  • @gutadin5 It's my buddies, and he got it from his uncle. It had issues in the beginning with jamming, so after oiling the gun heavily it started working like a charm.

  • nice gun, i own a kimber goldcombat RL2, this is a pretty sweet rig, but i did notice your stance, do you tend to lean to one foot? i know the ground is not a sidewalk bt standing more center will help. another tip is i noticed you shrug your shoulders and bend your elbows to bring the gun up to your eyelevel, id sugest lowering your head and keeping your arms a tad straighter. helped me speed up my followup shots.

  • @Demo7IIRider Thanks. I was on one hill and firing at another, I was really just shooting close targets and was being filmed. I like the STI and most 1911's, but I am still a fan of Glock. Thanks for the advise.

  • I must apologize for the negitive comments written on my page. Due to high estrogen levels of some STI firearm owners, it looks like I am bashing on the STI Edge. I have a rating system based on what matters in a post apocalyptic scenario. The STI is a great firearm, it just isn't the best in the rating system.

  • STI is a ferrari glock is a ford. I own 3 STI race guns and 4 glocks. A 17 a 22 a 27 and a 34. Also shooter in the video has the WORST stance and form i think ive ever seen. Hope he didnt write the review cuz i wouldnt listen to a word that guy said about guns.......

  • @jmcommon1 I must agree. The STI is a Ferrari, but the Glock is more of a mid 90's Toyota. See when a Ferrari breaks, you must take weeks out of your life finding a mechanic that knows what he is doing and can fix the issue. While if or when a Glock breaks you can either buy a new one, or spend the couple bucks to fix it. And it is sad when people get defencive over something like this. And stance?! Is that all you have? It doesn't matter how you look, you just have to hit your target.

  • @04vennum i completely agree with you. In the world of firearms 99% of the time the price will usually directly reflect the quality of the weapon. That doesn't mean that the cheaper ones are bad. i have a Taurus PT 1911 chambered in .45 acp, and a Nighthawk. the nighthawk will outshoot the taurus anyday but the Taurus is still a good gun. never a problem with either. There is only one gun i will never buy again and that is a para ordinance. i don't know if it was bad luck or bad gun.

  • How many mags did it come with? And what size r they 126mm or 140mm?

  • @MyNameIsMrSwifty I am not sure.

  • not so good handling... i mean not the gun but rather the shooter...

  • i have a STI and so does my dad and brother, and we'll never shoot anything different. No glock for me please. ha. Im saving up to buy the Executive, and I cant wait to get it.

  • @04vennum Well the STI is a awesome gun, but my reviews are based on a post apocalyptic scenario, meaning the chance of running across another for parts, without ordering or sending in for warrenty "cause that would be useless" The STI was a wonderful piece of work, but like the 1911, it needs more attention than you could offer, when you are stuck with minimal supplies. I would take one over a run of the mill AR-15 though.

  • @Renoctsreviews how can you compare a handgun to an assault rifle anywayz? And in my opinion too many people in world have the attitude, " i wud have one but the cost is too much'. Listen price is quality in the firearm world, alone with everything else. too many ppl buy american made cars for the fact that they are cheaper. I was thought this, if you buy cheap, you buy twice. but whatever.

  • @04vennum I look at a gun as a overall way of survival when SHTF. This is what my reviews are based off of, and not many people I know would dump 2000 on any firearm. Plus you do have buy a shit load of mags. Each about 40 bucks "give or take" and trust me, the STI when dry on oil, is not a pleasent sight. The first time I took the STI out before I filmed this vid, it was stove piping every 3 to 5 rounds. Worked much better after cleaning and oil. Even when dry, my Glocks have never had a issue

  • @04vennum cheap doesnt always mean cheap and more money doesnt gaurantee you more quality and reliability i.e. the ak-47 and the recent purchase of a cz 75, both were listed under $500. Do your home work, the key is to know what you are looking for so you dont spend more than you have to.

  • While it may not be a nice hefty price i would drop that money for one. IN a post apocalyptic world, Its not just about how good a gun works, but its also about the fear factor of that weapon. You want to be able to intimidate the other people (survivors). With a gun like this, you would think its like a 1911, but thats were youre wrong, its got more ammo capacity. Its a pretty BA gun and i would drop that type of money. But in a PA world, money wont matter, bullets will. ;D

  • @LanOsb133 Money won't matter, but it being flashy kind of puts fear into unarmed survivors, For the armed ones you like to hope that you enemy won't spot your weapon. The magwell makes it a pain to holster as well. Also the common person "who owns this firearm" won'y keep it oiled and it has been a misfeeding friendly gun. I put 100 rounds in and not one failure. Even with steel cased rounds. Parts, and mags are almost in no home/gunstore, so it will last till it gives, I liked the gun though.

  • @Renoctsreviews At the moment im either saving up for the edge (same as yours but in .45 ACP.) Or im gana use the same money and get a USC (UMP .45 Civilian version, UMP being one of my favorite guns) or an SL8 (al8 being the civilian G36, another one of my favorites.) All guns run around 2k... But is it possible to take the magwell off? But i just LOVE that silver and black combo. I hate silver and black usually but this gun can really pull it off.. :P

  • The Edge is like comparing a rail dragster to a Volkswagen. That gun is for competitive rapid fire, gun racing, so to speak. It is capable of serious social work and public sanitation, but not exactly what you may want to carry on a daily basis in Zombieland. With some dedication and mastery on your part, I believe you would find this weapon quite desirable, but it's out of my price range as well. For that much coin, I could get an AR and a boat load of ammo!

  • damm where did you get the edge for $1800 ???

  • Great video man! Too much coin for me. For that kind of money I would buy something ridiculous like a S&W500

  • awesome looking gun

  • That STI is sick!

    Thanks Bro!

  • gun looks sick minus the ugly oversized flat mag well. but I guess its more for function that looks. thanks for sharing

  • @MrCleanerNash True, I hate it. Other than that I really liked it. It's not my gun, but now I really want a 1911.

  • @MrCleanerNash I have the Dawson Precision ICE magwell on mine and it is even bigger than the stock STI one seen in this video. But like you mentioned it is more for function than looks. It also helps get you a better grip on the gun.

  • @nictaylor00 It helps with balance too. I want a classic GI 1911. I have always been a fan non modified handguns. Thats why I like the gen2 style Glocks.
