  • i saw "the union" in my class

  • I support legalization, but it would be really cool if the pot supporters out there would stop attacking alcohol.

What does it accomplish? All your doing is supporting the puritanical anti-alcohol (and in most cases that also means anti-pot) groups, with no benefit to the pot cause.

The assertions that alcohol is 'the worst drug', other than being useless to you, are solely based on heavy drinking (avg >6 drinks a day in most studies!). If I drink a 2 beer a day, my health will only improve.

  • I don't even smoke marijuana and marijuana decriminalization would do nothing for my life but i know it's the right thing to do! the key is educating people about marijuana and the fact that it is NOT a dangerous substance (at least with respect to alcohol/tobacco). come on canada, we know better than this. let's legalize the damn thing!!!

  • Drugs should be legal and controlled NOT because drugs are good but because like booze and cigarettes they have negative effects. The fact is, leaving drugs to the black market makes drugs MORE dangerous- you never know what will be laced with it. People will use drugs no matter what- control and regulate to make it safer and minimize the damage

  • Being high doesn't exactly bring out capitalist ambitions in me, sometimes just the opposite. I don't give a shit about competition, I just wanna live my life. Maybe that's why bud is illegal in this country.

  • @anexistentialdilemma and I guess that's why it's a big deal in the states... why would you allow your people to take a substance that makes them more pacific ? Anyway, in my world it would be great to have everybody open minded about marijuana, it's so good.

  • What's funny is that you have cigarettes which are one of the most lethal and legal things that humans consume and that pot is illegal. I just find it that weird, tobacco companies are indirectly killing millions of people yet some guy smoking pot can get arrested or even go to jail. That's just bullshit and hypocrisy, it's absurd.

  • @xdeliriumx1 Smokin' weed helps you recover from the cancer tabacco gives you!

  • it goes deep with us because we believe the sun, which is the oldest form of religious worship grows the plant, through a natural metabolic process known as photosynthesis. idiot, christians in suits, wolves in sheeps clothing really, demonize the sun ? it;s an outrage for anyone with the slightest tad of intellect

  • This documentary is seriously worth watching, even if you don't smoke, it is probably the best doc I have ever seen.

  • meh those guys r just filmwriters..and damn good at it.too bad they didnt sound angry ..we should be fucken infuriated by cannabis still being criminally enforced.

  • what i dont understand is why is it such a huge deal weather it's legal or illegal, why does it go so deep with smokers?

  • whether you smoke 5 times a day or 5 times a year you're still a "smoker", so let's not generalize.

legalizing pot for tax revenue is only a small benefit, the majority would come from the utilization of hemp for papers, plastics, food, energy, clothing, medicine and building materials, while completely or almost replacing cotton, petroleum, trees and synthetic medicines.

those are the benefits of legalizing mj that should be focused on as well.

  • why dont you make cigarette smoking illegal since its worse than smoking raw weed

  • The difference with cigarettes is that it does not necessarily change your judgement. Only thing that makes you pissed off is withdrawal.

  • And alcohol doesn't change your judgement. Get your argument right and stop picking and choosing what it right and wrong for me - I'll be the judge of that thanks.

  • When did I decide what is right and wrong for you?

Alcohol affects your judgment man. That is, forethought becomes difficult so impulse becomes the decision criteria. Consequences are irrelevant to the intoxicated person so they may say whatever is on their mind, have sex with those who they normally wouldn't, etc.

I don't care about what's right and wrong. (in the moral sense) for others. Someone asked a question and I answered. You are very emotional (but it's not wrong to be that way).

  • Because the murder rate would rise exponentially for the first few weeks.

  • Oh, well.

Less mouths to feed. How's that not a plus ha ha.

  • Bob Marley calls it the healing of the nation cause the wisdom weed gives so much inspiration. The herb growing from creation should be legalised without hesitation. Searching for a positive vibration the rastaman will fight for decriminalization.

  • the movie is well worth the watch. i've been "pro-pot" if you will, for years and i was surprised at how much i learned from this movie.

    definitely watch it!

    <3

  • Why the fuck is it illegal?!?!?!?!

  • because when you smoke pot you don't want to drink alcohol

the alcohol lobby is against legalizing

the auto/home insurance lobby is against legalizing

the military/law enforcement is against legalizing

do you really think they will legalize POT? when it is more convenient to keep it illegal

  • There is still hope.

  • u r sooo right i stoped drinking when i start smoking pot but its hard to find it esp. in newfoundland :(

  • @emcga150 lol its not more convenient to keep it illegal at all

its only a matter of time before it is legalized and taxed just like cigarettes and alcohol

  • 3 possibilities : 1. Because its associated with the ''dangerous class'' to the establishment, because poor ppl smoke it.

    2. Under the pressure of industrialists to have an excuse to outlaw hempf, since it can be an alternative to many other raw materials.

    3. Because the government uses the drug war to fund itself (seizures), wich I think is dumb because they spend much more arresting ppl than they gain by seizing funds of dealers.

  • @Shay5590 Didn't you watch the video? you commented on it.

  • @Shay5590 racial views and money originally. now they just don't want to do it because "drugs are bad".

  • this shit is dope!

  • I've seen this movie and i seriously advise everyone to see it! Its amazing what you can learn from it!...

  • I love George. He's such a beautiful and intelligent man.<3

  • CBC is owned by the Canadian government, it's a crown corporation. CBS is an american owned company.

  • CBC is owned by the Canadian government, it's a crown corporation. CBS is an american owned company.

  • CBC is owned by the Canadian government, it's a crown corporation. CBS is American.

  • Over Grow the Government!

  • yeah. side effects include talkativeness, and an increased appetite. the only real problem that cannabis causes is a slight increase in bronchitis. every other effect of THC will leave your system within a day (at most), and will be fully urinated out by at the most 40 days.

what are these side effects again, troll?

  • I don't think you read my comment properly. I clearly stated "HABITUAL" marijuana use. By your theory, if somebody uses marijuana "habitually", it will take forever to "fully urinate" all the THC in their body.

  • side effects include the most precious one.

my car can't go fast. and the biggest one is??? dunt dunta dun...can't you and I just get along man? I don't ever wanna fight with you dude. You're my buddy man.

  • Uhuh? So you're saying that being hungry, tired and having bloodshot eyes outweighs the amount of relief it provides to cancer patients,MS and AIDS sufferers, or people in severe pain who don't want to be popping hydrocodone 4-6 times a day?

  • Hold on now, you're saying that it cannot provide a benefit for everyday people? Medically I do not see how anyone can deny it's benefits, I realize you did not but still, and socially it can provide numerous benefits. Imagine coming home to a relaxing joint, then making some dinner and calming down with the family after a stressful day. How about people who suffer from depression? How about people who don't quite qualify to use it medically? Before you talk, enlighten yourself.

  • See, this is where there is a difference, cigarettes kill, marijuana does not. Cigarettes harm other people when you are smoking them around them, marijuana does not. I knew long before you did that cigarettes contain chemicals, did you know that none of those are harmful to you? I am very enlightened on the matter and would like to ask you, how many deaths per year do you think marijuana causes? STOP BEING A GOVERNMENT TOOL!

  • burn...

  • yeah, just light up and relax.

  • where can i buy this?

  • Marijuana is among the mildest mind altering herbs, the most difficult to abuse. Neural researchers say its effect is to enhance synaptic connection.

Cannabis receptors are not present in the reward circuits, so pot is less likely to be addictive, and not present in the medula, so not a danger to the heart.

Lester Grinspoon says in his website his lifelong writing limited consideration to only medicinal and recreational use but now he appreciates it improves thinking processes for many.

  • The fact is prohibition doesn't work. Why is booze legal? It kills, ruins lives and relationships and makes people do very stupid things.Fine, everybody has the right do get high on booze but not on a much less harmless drug.Doesn't make sense to me. The corrupt/ignorant lawmakers that are influenced by drug companies, law enforcement etc.,are pressured to keep it illegal.

  • Well said mate. I have done several different drugs and I can say alchohol has been the most destructive. If everyone smoked instead of drank the world would be a better place.

  • haha what a pointless comment

  • no i think its your point that is pointless. well i guess you make the point that you are an idiot but im sure that was unintended

  • Legalize it and tax it. Decriminalization doesn't address many of the issues. The sales from the drug, hemp products and the tourism from the States would more than pay for any increased costs in Health Care. Police and prisons will fight this as they derive alot of their money from an unwinnable drug war.

  • Exactly. Crime pays on both sides. Money to the police. Money to the dealers.

Too bad the system is set up around money and not a safe system.

  • Legalize it !!

  • these guys have never smoked a day in their lives

  • Worse yet, they've never given the issue any valid thought.

  • Happened to me once. Anxiety attack, it happens the first few times for some people. Do it a few more times and it goes away. Or not.

  • Crime pays... both sides. Fuck there's no way out!!!!
