Seems more like u were just a bit messy & needed to clear some things out & get organized. Whatever it was , I don't think u were as extreme as others. Your house wasn't filthy , just messy & needed organization & a bit of cleaning
Books...*sigh* I can relate. I have donated enough books in the past that I actually started two libraries! Still, they seem to magically re-accumulate...
Wow you did good. Its hard for me to get rid of books. I've gotten rid of alot of them and allways feel guilty like I might need the info someday. That day never really comes. lol!
I'm sorry, you made it seem like you woke up one morining and said, "Hey, to hell with this...." and pitched, pitched, and pitched. You cannot control this like some type is digital switch. Too extreme; saving all then discard all. I mean if you DID wake up (like the revelation Scrooge had) then wow you are rare. Takes time, consistancy, support, retraining the brain, and dare I say--possibly, medication. Besides, trust me-I know, you are (or were) a "neat" hoarder :) anywho goodluck.
lol, that was great, my son and I watched it and it was brilliant. The choice of music at the start fit well with what you were doing, then the peaceful music at the end when the tide of clutter receeded. We just did a similar thing for our youngest, who is a compulsive hoarder already. Thanks for posting this, too funny!
Thanks for the comments. I had to face the fact that I was indeed a compulsive hoarder, especially when I spent more time looking for things. I did not want to waste my life living this way. I hope to post Part II within the next several weeks. I'm even tearing down old wallpaper (30+ years) and giving the rooms a whole new look over.
Did you ever post part 2?I have to commend you for getting rid of your books.I have been doing this off and on for a few years.I took some to my new local library today and wil take the others to the new school nearby.I do have a few more books I may get rid of too.I have a lot more to do clutter wise. The A and E show Hoarders has helped me too.I guess I am a 3 on a Hoarder scale.I have clean bathrooms and kitchen but just got too much clutter and things in some rooms.

My husband kinda keeps me in check but I know that if I was to live alone, I would be an extreme hoarder. Thank God for my family.
