THis whole "you can't transcend with chemicals" thing is so New World Order. Maybe someone who smokes a ton has a HUGE will to live, which they know exactly how far to push. If someone who drinks and smokes *didn't* have a great will to live, then they would have already been killed by their habits.
We say "drugs" and mean "narcotics". But...
Hallucinogens are homework for EVERYONE. SO DO SOME> NOW. Or else you may not pass go. They are mental training wheels. Neale Walsch is such an idiot.
I've just been thinking about this! I've gone through bouts of total abstinence and bouts of excess on occasion. It's interesting finding that middle ground for oneself and one's spiritual practice. Thanks for this discussion!
I just came upon your webisodes, I love your feedback, your humor and your insite and now I read you are no longer doing these webisodes........Bless you and Thank you both...
Great discussion! I've read many spirituality books and it's very stimulating to hear your questions and reflections. Have you read the ringing cedars of Russia series by Vladimir Megre? I've read 3 of 9 books. They share similar ideas to the books you discuss but add other perspectives that I'm not sure about...it would be great if you read these books and include them in your discussions...I really like the way you question/analyse these ideas. All the best :)
I think god's comment through walsh about "little will to live" implies "in the moment" that you take in the intoxicant you have little will(power) to live. I agree with Tolle's perception that Drugs and alcohol bring you below thought. Whereas truely 'living' exists in the real.....in the moment.
I just want to say that I happened upon your webisodes and appreciate them very much.
So, maybe I'll try being as carefree and light-hearted as is socially acceptable when it's caused by alcohol, without consuming alcohol. Not that I drink that often at all. Actually, I was thinking about doing this in a party-type situation where most others are drinking, but I think a better idea would be to try this in any social situation since it's such a relaxed state. Hmmmmm...
you guys are fun. Amazing how we choose journeys to enlightenment going through lesons of alcolisim, drugs, compulsive sex, shopping whatever & then the challenges of taking our power back, then you die! LOL
Toby, go a head & take your clothes off, just Do It Tastfully& I'll try to figure out how to put a dollar through the screen.
