  • IBM doesn't want to save the environment, they want more cash for their stock holders, that's why they got rid of in office coffee, working from home and so on....

  • cool, so all we need is a super computer to get this setup at home

  • Wasn't that guy on the discovery channel show that simulated a virus mega disaster to the planet and them surviving with no other help in a warehouse.

  • Hi John, nice representation... gud...

Just a thought - are measures to control the aerosol borne infection in place at the water cooling towers..?

  • john cohn is from the colony and he has a facebook account

  • dumb

  • I am wary of putting trust into any major corporation.

  • make a hemp based ethanol fuel and there you go all natural low emissions gas.

  • oh so your a scientist thats so cool

  • John Cohn was one of the people who participated in The Colony.

    Awesome reality show.

  • I'm looking for a flat that is about 100 sq/ft. I don't need more than that. When I walk outside I get all the space that I need. The problem is (San Francisco) that all I see are over priced flats with unnecessary space.

  • Just rent out a closet.

  • Look someone thumbed me down lol. What is funny to me is that I have lived in a space that size and thought it was fine for what I needed and a very low cost. My point is that people don't need 2000 sq/ft lofts. They hog up space, drive up costs.

  • That guy is on "the colony".

  • No wonder we can't find any affordable flats in the cities anymore. There's just too many of us :(

  • doh! unfunny host is unfunny.

you know those blaxploitation movies from the 70s? this is that, but with scientists.

  • CO2 may be plant food but we/machines produce more than the plants can eat/clean/turn into oxygen. What's worse is we are cutting down a lot of trees that can clean the air and sure, we're planting more in place but by the time they grow big and strong enough to clean air it would take billions of years to clean the air that has been littered with CO2 while it was growing nice and big. If that makes any sense at all...

Now, for the video I think that's a neat idea.

  • I agree we need to stop cutting down trees, especially in the rainforest and other like environments, but CO2 is less harmful than people think (it's actually not that insulative). we really need to worry more about more hazardous chemicals and other forms of destruction that we can see the damage of instead of hearing about from a speculative report that ignores science fact

  • the humor is SO unnessesary.

  • solution: WAR

  • Global warming or no, reducing the amount of energy used in any given manufacturing process also reduces the amount of money spent, and reduces the amount of crap in our air.

Honestly, I live in the country, and when I come home after a day in the city, I wheeze. Pollution does have effects on mankind other than global warming.

  • Favorite dude from The Colony!

  • Climategate.

    That is all.

  • no such thing, sorry.

just statistical smoothing, look it up.

  • wow, why don't you 'look it up' and do some research. take planetary astronomy and you'll see what's up. increasing CO2 in an atmosphere on a planet increases it's average temperature (if there's enough of it). we produce CO2 every day; therefore, it's getting warmer on average. i don't know what 'statistical smoothing' your going on about. science anyone?

  • *you're

we don't just produce CO2, we produce large quantities of it.

  • lol sorry you read that out of order!

I meant "no such thing [as climate gate]" they were talking about statistical smoothing not hiding data.

I was agreeing with you and disagreeing with

    fkoehl :P

my bad should of bean clearer.

  • I lol'ed :D

  • Global warming is very real, the impact humans have on it is what is debated.

  • Are you talking about the "hacked climate correspondence"? Did you actually READ the letters - I was curious and did. I don't know what they're talking about, the only thing they mention is the possibility that it's not human-caused. They don't quote any evidence against it. And come on, it was hacked by OPEC countries, you don't see bias there?

  • You best be trollin'

  • Co2 or not we still shouldn't be polluting.

  • I'm pretty sure I saw this water-cooling technique somewhere in Philadelphia, but I cannot remember for the life of me.

  • ... the colony?

  • Whoa! It IS the same guy!

  • well done!

  • I think that the statement in the beginning is misleading, sure cities produce the most co2 (population density). If you look at per capita energy usage the denser the city the less impact each person has. Which is why Manhattan is actually the most environmentally friendly place to live, surprising but true!

  • sweeeeeet

  • Cool :D

  • Saw this off Tim Washers LinkedIn update. It fantastic!

  • Cool video guys.

  • Love the lab coat
