if u read the books then u know that the surgoen´s name who operated Sally is Anders Jonasson but in the original it´s Jacobsson a friend of Stieg Larsson

after Larsson´s death this real Jacobsson happened to criticize the brother & dad so they out of revenge ordered the publisher to change the name of this surgoen from Jacobsson to Jonasson!

But Eva kept Stieg´s computor with the file of 4th book!

As u know Larsson died suddenly in 2004 without leaving a straight forward testament

Since he wasnt legally married to Eva, his cohab of 30 yrs, she became nothing

it was his brother and father who became automatically heirs of his legacy which is huge, 3 mill US $ and growing by every day

The Larsson family are from the North where pple have a special mentality a little like hillbillies in USA

My cousin had read one of the Larssons book and recommended it to me. From what I heard about Larsson he was a great writer. However, I couldnt care less for his activities as journalist and political activist, as much as he was writer of a extraordinary gift, he was pretty much clueless when it comes to politics. Still, that was and still is, very usual thing- Lots of genius artists, writers included, make silly political activists&commentators. Examples are far too numerous to list them here.

He´s language skills is pretty f+++n far from the nobelprize. Its the most overrated books by far in scandinavia for a longtime.

Allright for a cheap crime-novel, but what the hell, to call it like barrierbreaking literature??? I don´t understand...

His blood-family is crazy idiots though, and Larson deserved his success, brother and pappa Larson should be punished for being assholes. his wife should get the cash!!!!

I said my cousin recommended one book for me, I never praised him directly. And I used word genius in explaining how there were, and still are, alot of gifted artists who are silly political activists&commentators. I never said Larsson was a genius as a writer, no matter how successful he is (though obviosly there are some who regard him as such). As far as his family is concerned, well, I really dont know who is crazy or asshole or whether or not his widow should get the bloody cash or not...

As far as i know, Stieg Larson was an active anti-racist, anti neo-nazi, and against violence towards women. Whats your problem with that? Sounds allright to me....

His books though are scoring into the open goal of swedish mainstream political correctness, all the attributes of "Evil" are connected to the male establishment, and "goodness" is always with the marginalized; the gay, the "foreigners", women, children- a bit too simple for my taste.

Well,I agree with you about Larsson.You ask me what were the genius (genius depending on point of view, but great artists/intellectuals nevertheless) people who made silly political commentators? In my opinion, here they are, in no particular order, most prominent ones: Harold Pinter,Jean Paul Sartre,Victor Hugo,Jean Jacques Rousseau,Leo Tolstoy,Oscar Wilde,Andre Gide,George Bernard Shaw etc.Note that while humanity is in great debt to them,their stances on politics are often ridicilous&utopian

Ok thanks for the list., I think your separation of "political" and "artistic" (intellectual or whatever) is quite irrelevant. How can tou say "the world is in debt to them" and at the same time say they are "silly"? Tolstoy, for example , served as a lieutenant in war, experiences which made him later very much against war, and he argued very deeply for this in his BOOKS. Can that be called silly? How many politicians has had a fraction of that exeperience or put that much thought to it?

I guess your idea of "intellectuals" being silly is about the old idea of them having no contact with reality, being utopian , naive etc. Its a stupid idea- tolstoy is just one on your list that had a lot of contact with reality(more than most-including politicians, judges, lawyers, scientists, carpenters, car mechanics, you name it). Thats what makes them great i think. On the other hand, how many "politicians" havent we seen, with NO CONTACT with REALITY whatsoever? Hitler, P.pot, Stalin,Mao

It´s a pleasure to finally encounter a sound opinion about these books I already got a little bit tired of this hystery about it

It´s almost embarrasing when u consider dozens of other scandinavian detective/thrillers that deserve much more attention

I started believing that it must be teens who got excited about a pierced punk on the book cover & no experienced readers

Not only is the plot & messages very predictable I definitely recognize how he borrows ideas from Guillou

The characters r weak, resemble comic figures, Lisbeth is well conceived but even she falls into the comic category

But I admire Larssons role in fighting the right extremism

Yes, I agree the bro &dad make a very cheap & weak impression here, really live up to the stereotype of inhibited, vindictive Norrlänning
