  • brilliant vid very helpful thanks!

  • Can I ask a dumb question? I absolutely love these, I have been intrigued w/them since I saw them on Carol Duval years ago. But can you tell me why make altered books? I mean as opposed to using a scrapbook or sketchbook for this type of artsy stuff. They are not archival safe or anything, right? I have my grandpas lawbooks, that got ruined. but I can't bring myself to throw them out. This is a way for me to keep them but alter them.

  • Altered books are not archival, but they allow you to use techniques not possible in scrapbooks. You can cut the book to a shape, cut niches to hide trinkets in, use text on a page, etc. I would invite you to visit my altered book web site for techniques and pictures but YouTube does not allow me to post a url

  • Wonderful info, I am new to altering books. I have been wanting to alter a board book for awhile now but didn't know where to start. The video turned out great so no need to be anxious. ;)
