If someone was asked about the Big 4 of Punk, theyd probably say something like Sex Pistols, Ramones, The clash and misfits. But that does not mean those were the best bands. @8407282 I agree that these bands are superior (most times underground metal is the best), but Anthrax helped in spreading thrash metal better than Kreator, because they were less brutal... so more people liked them... especially after the ''bring the noise'' single, even rap fans could be interested in hearing Anthrax... and then hearing real thrash like Kreator... generally the big four dont represent the best thrash bands but the bands that helped the thrash metal to become well known
