@jg0582 Dorothy Kilgallen (sp?) to the left & Arleen Francis on the right. Check Wikipedia to learn more. IMO Arleen is absolutely adorable. I don't like Dorothy.
@Remington61189 I actually didn't know until my mom told me, and it makes sense. I have always adored Pepe Le Pew, and it wasn't until a day ago that I found out about the darling man behind it. Too bad he had such a tragic life after the death/maybe suicide of his only son.
Why oh why didn't they encourage Charles Boyer to speak more?!? His exquisite mellifluous voice is one of his most attractive qualities! Pity he had to use the falsetto to disguise it...but what a great fake accent.
My favorite Boyer films : Conquest as Napoleon opposite Garbo, Tales of Manhattan, Gaslight where he tries to drive Ingrid Bergman crazy. And she doesn't rattle easily, either.
Unfortunately his career ended on two rather strange films -- that musical version of "Lost Horizon" where he played a Tibetian high lama of ShangriLa and "A Matter of Time," Vincente Minnelli's last big bomb of a movie. Boyer, Liza M and Ingrid Bergman all got caught in the fallout.
Great in so many parts: Garden of Allah, History is Made at Night, Love Affair, Cluny Brown..and a real hoot (spoofing his "lover movie image") in an I LOVE LUCY episode. A real gentleman who had a long, happy marriage..a rarity in Tinsel Town.
it's official: i have a crush on dorothy.

Who was the Mr. Michener on the panel? Was it the author James Michener?

@thesocialpet i don't know who it was, but i'm glad he passed; he was obstructing the flow of the questioning; let the pros do it.

@morchie717 A nice dream but these people no longer exist... nor would an audience for it, beside the obvious exceptions.

@LazlosPlane You are so right. I think many who watch WML videos wish they were around in the 1950's....I know I do.

I think he could romance a woman into just about anything. He was so handsom

Of course he had to hide his voice. That very French baritone would have been a dead giveaway.
A gorgeous voice. I''ll let the ladies talk about his good looks.

Haven't seen that many of his films, but my favorite is All This And Heaven, Too, which is also one of my favorite Bette Davis films.

Better to finish in two famous bombs than in two films nobody's ever heard of, as most of them do.
