  • it's official: i have a crush on dorothy.

  • Who was the Mr. Michener on the panel? Was it the author James Michener?

  • @thesocialpet i don't know who it was, but i'm glad he passed; he was obstructing the flow of the questioning; let the pros do it.

  • @jg0582 Dorothy Kilgallen (sp?) to the left & Arleen Francis on the right. Check Wikipedia to learn more. IMO Arleen is absolutely adorable. I don't like Dorothy.

  • This man is french.

  • He's like a Human Pepe Le pew

  • @Remington61189 That's what Pepe Le Pew came from. The made him in honor of Charles, didn't you know that?

  • @SpockLover27 yes i did, always thought the animators at warners captured the mannerisms of boyer perfectly

  • @Remington61189 I actually didn't know until my mom told me, and it makes sense. I have always adored Pepe Le Pew, and it wasn't until a day ago that I found out about the darling man behind it. Too bad he had such a tragic life after the death/maybe suicide of his only son.

  • who are the two women ?

  • Excellent. Thanks very much, as ever.

  • I wish the episode of i LOVE LUCY was on YouTube because that was hilarious.

  • I would give anything...an arm or a leg, to have this classy show back.

  • @morchie717 A nice dream but these people no longer exist... nor would an audience for it, beside the obvious exceptions.

  • @LazlosPlane You are so right. I think many who watch WML videos wish they were around in the 1950's....I know I do.

  • He was a devoted family man and stayed married to the same woman for years and years.

  • Charming man!!!!

  • i searched my surname, and charlie turned up, it was filmed 5 months before i was born

  • I think he could romance a woman into just about anything. He was so handsom

  • Of course he had to hide his voice. That very French baritone would have been a dead giveaway.

A gorgeous voice. I''ll let the ladies talk about his good looks.

  • Why oh why didn't they encourage Charles Boyer to speak more?!? His exquisite mellifluous voice is one of his most attractive qualities! Pity he had to use the falsetto to disguise it...but what a great fake accent.

  • Such a handsome man!

  • Is Arlene naked in this one? It looks it in the close-ups.

  • My hollywood crush! I adore him!!!

  • Love him!He was so damn sexy!

  • Salut, merci pour l'achèvement de la vidéo de mon oncle Charles Boyer, comme je le vois de temps en cause une grande joie, et tous leurs fans.

    Edson Boyer

  • Bonjour, are you really related to Charles Boyer?

  • Thanx for posting.

My favorite Boyer films : Conquest as Napoleon opposite Garbo, Tales of Manhattan, Gaslight where he tries to drive Ingrid Bergman crazy. And she doesn't rattle easily, either.

Unfortunately his career ended on two rather strange films -- that musical version of "Lost Horizon" where he played a Tibetian high lama of ShangriLa and "A Matter of Time," Vincente Minnelli's last big bomb of a movie. Boyer, Liza M and Ingrid Bergman all got caught in the fallout.

  • Haven't seen that many of his films, but my favorite is All This And Heaven, Too, which is also one of my favorite Bette Davis films.

  • Better to finish in two famous bombs than in two films nobody's ever heard of, as most of them do.

  • Great in so many parts: Garden of Allah, History is Made at Night, Love Affair, Cluny Brown..and a real hoot (spoofing his "lover movie image") in an I LOVE LUCY episode. A real gentleman who had a long, happy marriage..a rarity in Tinsel Town.

  • Ze franche lover!!!

  • Oh my, he is so sexy :)

  • come with me to the casbah.....smooth
