  • man for non-studio, byron is the shit

  • singer kicks ass man im so pumped uppppppppppppppp

  • i think the drummer kicked ass! singer and the guy with the randy rhoads guitar were great too! but this moron with the explorer act and looked like a faggot.

  • @BarackoObama image isnt everything dipshit

  • This is really cool. But it sounds like Addictive Drummer.

  • This song seems to easy for richard christy!

  • ex iced earth and ex death too

  • Who is the singer? He looks familiar.

  • omg he sounds exactly like tom

  • @Mayhem3033 Byron from God Forbid

  • Are those all Epiphone amps?

  • the only thing that sounds good here is byron and the lead guitarist. the other guitar player looks too old school to be playing slayer and the drummer needs better tempo

  • @sakMFKR The drummer needs better tempo. Hmm, okay. Go look up Death's last album, and get back to me.

  • really cool - the singer ROCKS!

  • BEFORE YOU SEE THE LIGHT, YOU MUST DIEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!

  • i think i need to get new speakers theyre starting to distort...oh wait.

  • Oh and btw, Slayer has too many album fillers to be a good band, but I guess at least one of those had to be in the big 4, Testament and Exodus are even worse (in terms of album fillers). Why not make it big 3, or big 2, as far as I know the only real thrash metal albums are the first 3 of Anthrax, the first 4 of Megadeth. ''BUT WHAT ABOUT SLOW'EM ALL? Thats just a learning Dave Mustaine played slowly.

  • Fucking hell its awesome...but hell please sort your levels out...sounds like shit clipping all the way!!!

  • I clicked the red x to close the browser the moment I saw the Jamaican guy.

I'm sorry but I don't need to sit here and watch a metal classic being ruined by black guy rapping over it.

  • @Beckonor

How could you have written this comment then? If you have a chance to do some awesome racism then atleast dont fuck it up, retard. GJ! WTF is this world coming to?!

  • I've watched a few of these now and I don't care who's on the drums.......that kit BOOMS! I love it! :)

  • very good lyrics cover ...

  • richard christy is the man.....old school death and iced earth is the shit

  • Anybody else notice that at 1:40, the drummer is rubbing his nose while the snare still hits?

  • @sixxthunderbird doesnt matter, the drummer is richard christy, hes very talented, look up some of his other videos, and hes also a comedian on the howard stern show

  • @SargentandGreenLeaf I wasn't knocking his abilities, just thought it was sorta funny.

  • @sixxthunderbird

    mmm, maybe bad syncing..?

    dunno..

  • @sixxthunderbird he's got that def leapord foot pedal going on...you didn't notice?

  • @sixxthunderbird It was pre-recorded so...He is incredible drummer.Listen to Chick Shuldiner's Death the last album and you will see what i am talking about.

  • @AtanasovPetar Yeah I've gotten into Death since that comment was posted. Christy tears it up.

  • @sixxthunderbird Yes i think Death-Sound of perseverance is landmark death metal record and best of that genre in my book. And Christy did some great drumming on these tunes.

  • baldy sure can play some drums huh? lol

  • the singer looks and sing like derrick green(sepultura)

  • @rapcoremanx

    It´s Byron from God Forbid

  • why does the guitar player with the beard remind me of dimebag?

  • damn sounds fuckin badazz!!

  • ... And Richard Christy (The Howard Stern Show, ex-Death)

    FTFY

  • richard christy!!!

  • The Howard Stern Show? I THINK YOU MEAN DEATH YOU FUCKING IDIOTS

  • toms black son \m/

  • @xtinn92 true

  • Some of you idiots are the most ignorant people I have ever encountered. Seriously, do us all a favor and make sure you educate yourself before you open your mouth, or your internet browser again OR, just kill yourself and we can start thinning out the polluted gene pool. Don't get me wrong, I think the appreciation of Heavy Metal and Hard rock needs more support, but you're the ones to run people off with this kind of stagnant banter and cimmerianisms. \m/

  • the singer's voice sounds like Tom Araya o.0

  • sounds good.

  • Hmm pretty sure there wasnt such a interview in Headbangers journey. I know that some of the first metal bands like Sabbath and Purple(they allso were classicaly if you knew anything about Blackmore) had some blues influence but they definatly dilluted it in thier sound and the next generation pionered by bands like Priest and Maiden took the blues aspect out of metal. It became its own form of music all together not an offspring of the blues.

  • @nimitz1983 Priest took the blues aspect out of metal?? Please do yourself a favor and listen to every single solo in the Screaming for Vengaence album and then tell me if you don't see blues influences there... and that is just one example of it.

  • you guys at talking metal should put out compilation cd's and dvd's of your tapings...even after paying royalties it would bank a mint ! this one kicks ass big time. after listening to this i learned it...heavy as hell ! THANKS for keeping it real!

  • you guys at talking metal should put out compilation cd's and dvd's of your tapings...even after paying royalties it would bank a mint ! this one kicks ass big time. after listening to this i learned it...heavy as hell ! THANKS for keeping it real

  • that double bass on the drums fucking kick ass

  • I love richard christy

  • Byron did a damn good cover of Tom

  • I was just doing something else in another tab whilst listening to this, and saw it was a cover on the title. Didn't realise a black bloke was doing the vocals, he sounds exactly like Tom. Unless Tom is secretly black or the black dude is eaxctly white, i don't know on either but all i do know is that its awesome.

  • Great job on a great song!

  • Wow, Death drummer plays Slayer. :O *gasp*

  • good old Byron nailed it!

  • The singer sounds exactly like Tom Araya.

  • why does the guy wear the explorer so high?? and plus, thats the same guitar i used in my South of Heaven cover...lmao

  • Wow! Thet vocalist is great, he nailed it!!

  • holy shit Bryon (i guess his name is?) fucking nailed it. guitarist with short hair looked like a tool at 1:33. i like the other one though. passionate headbanging gave it a Slayer feel.

  • who is the nigger??

    i like it, great vocal

  • @papulk racist asshole that byron davis of god forbid hes fucking great

  • Haha, I think RIchard Christy should label under Death band. :)

  • The singer fucking nailed this song perfectly.... this is a song which needs to be sung with a lot of aggression and he did that to perfection.. would love to hear him sing some early metallica songs

  • the singer sings it better than araya

  • the singer is great

  • Music has no colour. This dude can sing. AWESOME vid to the guys at "Talking Metal". Love your channel. Hope you take a look at ours "adogsage". I will post. our space is open to a few local bands. You guys are great - wish you were here!!!

  • I met the lead singer a few weeks back when his band (God Forbid) toured wit Kittie he's mad cool and laid back

  • the singer kicks ass, but is it just me or does he look stoned? lol

  • @ijustfudgedyomomma Most likely, when is seen them live the singer kept on asking the crowd for some BC bud ,every1 should know vancouver has some of the best weed

  • black guy rocks and looks like sepulturas singer derrick green

  • Shit, I think Tom's got some competition.

  • its god forbid

  • if i shut my eyes i would have thought this was slayer

  • hate how the drummer made up shit :l

  • no TOM ARAYA is the bassist and the vocalist for SLAYER

  • but the black guy does a good vocal cover on some parts

  • @CaseStew1 Damn, He should be in my Band though!

  • its a good cover and every time i see this i think the guy from God Forbid doesnt want to be there

maybe its just me thinking that

but its the best cover ive seen for this song

  • Holy shit

  • byron did a sick job. i dont like the solo and drums though.

  • I don't like it when I hear an improvisation that isn't played note for note and these guys are missing all over on the rhythms. Sorry, nice try, but no dice for me.

  • Lead singer Rocks it out. Let me get his name. He lights it up Chineese resturant style. F Yeah

  • byron davis from god forbid

u guys shuld play some buckethead every now n then.....anyways..like the podcast...been a subscriber for a while now....

-Alex from ventura CA (im 14 and a huge metalhead)

  • Richard Fucking Christy! Hells yeah that guy rocks!

  • God Forbid is awesome. They're probably one of the most underrated bands in metal. By the way, the drummer for Suffocation is black too. Wanna hate on Suffocation as well?

  • Really?? Even though metal comes from blues, which were made by black people?? Yeah your right..Screw history of music, lets go with your false ideal's =]

  • Your right....thanks for telling jaccsonville the truth.I'm black and listened to metal in the 80's =90's....it was the best era of metal.I know alot of blacks that listened to metal in the 90's,but today the media is brainwashing them to listen to emo and fake thug hip-pop.

  • @counterstrike02 thumbs up to idiocy yes black people invented blues robert johnson but metals roots come from rock n roll and classical music now here is a little history lesson there eas this man that took the blues and incoporated with what he grew up with bluegrass country rockabilly and made into a new intity maybe you heard of this man ELVIS PRESLEY and oh yeah he is white and thats not rascist thats a fact so without elvis there would be no rock and no rock = no metal

  • @dstncowles Simpleton, listen well since you have no idea what your talking about. All of metal has blues notes, unless you are going with neo-classical music which was introduced in the 1980's -.-;...Oh wow you really went with Elvis Presley?? First off Rock n' Roll was created by Lil Richard so there would have still been Rock n' Roll which means metal would have still been around. Elvis only took black people music which were already hits but since he was white they gained more attention..

  • @counterstrike02 Metal does not come from metal. Some of its begging practioners were influenced by bluesy rock musicians but they later seperated from thes roots. For instance what does this song have in common with the blues? Listen to any thrash/death/power/black metal bands there are no blues elemants in them. Metal has more punk and classical influeces then blues. Which are both predominatly caucasian forms of music.

  • @nimitz1983 wait what, when I did I say metal comes from metal? I said metal comes from blues and you can clearly hear this in this song because there a thing called blues scales which they are using XD Tisk tisk if you honestly think metal has more punk and classical influence, even slayer themselves say they are inspired by blues but clearly you know more than the band that made this song.

  • @counterstrike02 Sorry but thats not the blues scale being used its the chromatic scale not the blues scale there is no comparison musicaly with this song and the blues. Slayer was influenced by hardcore punk and NWOBHM not the blues. Stop talking out your ass. find me an interview where Kerry King says he was influenced by the blues and that will be the day rainbows fly out of my ass.

  • @nimitz1983 You can still play blues out of the chromatic scale -.-;.. and Blue>Rock>Punk Rock..Also NWOBHM had blues in it, just wow XD..Deep Purple, Iron Maiden, Black Sabbath, etc.. cite blues as their inspiration but psh Slayer who is inspired by those bands don't do it in their songs, yeah your so right. "Metal: A Headbanger's Journey" In the interview they did with K.King they talk about the blues and he also talks about newer bands not being able to play the simplest blues rifffs...

  • @nimitz1983 Blues is the root to all Metal and any other kind of rock music. So in reality he is influenced by blues

  • fuck you bitch, cooksucker

go to hell and fuck your bitch motherfucker mom.

  • I know alot that are....even myself.Don't let the media brianwash you.

  • You know what I hate? I hate how people like you are pushing a stereotype about headbangers that we're racist and nazi. Well fuck you man. This is my music too and if you want to say shit like that then go find a nazi band to say it at.

  • Go back to the 1700's.

  • Byron ruled that MF. Kerry King wishes he could play a solo like that!

  • wow listen to that singers voice :O

    its amazing!

  • byron sounds just like the cookie monster and tom araya, realy good x()

  • the singers in these jams are amazing! they sound just like the real thing!

  • holy crap, the singer is just awesome!

  • Byron is great metal singer. i wish god forbid could get more respect. its fucking hard being of color in metal. i'm a nerdy white metal head and i say we need more brothers in metal.

  • Well said nerdy white dude - well said.

  • DAMN!! metal mike really gets into it haha i love the immortal shirt haha

  • HAHA!!! i get to see fucking GOD FORBID on the 30th haha and lamb of god and CHOB, and Municipal waste HELLS YA!

  • ya i believe this show is still on tv

  • christy's such a good drummer and byrons not too shabby

  • hey, is this show still on????

  • I dont thank so. If it is i have not seen it.

  • yeah, i heard it got cancelled

  • its still on but their re-runs i think they still do the podcasts tho

  • holds his pitches way better than the slayer feller

  • thats cause tom araya's startin to lose his voice cause he screams and yells almost every night when they tour. it stinks cause toms a sick ass vocalist when hes on his game

  • This is how Slayer's vocals should sound.

  • Should sound? Isn't this almost exactly? Lol

  • Very very nice

  • That vocalist is fucking amazing

  • Cool cover, and amazing singer :)

  • faggots.

  • Incendiary performance. Fantastic.

  • It always sounds great when other guitar players improvise on Slayer songs and they actually play SCALES! I would listen to so much more Slayer if there were scales involved.

  • The song is played note for not there is no improvising here what so ever.

"METAL MIKE" & co sound great performing a great song from a great band!

  • dude parkers is an idiot but the solo is improved from the original

  • Yeah Mike put some of him into but he has always' expressed admiration for Slayer & it's shown here \M/

  • oh no doubt he likes slayer im just saying

  • hey talking metal is still on fuse right?

  • o yeah!!

  • oh, it's Metal Mike..well no wonder this rocks...your version of Tyrant is off the charts...

  • wow, I was ready to put these guy down as another bad cover band...just so many on here...well done --- not only does everyone sound great...the timing is there...do you have your own songs? You should...

  • another sick cover, holy fucking shit

  • the singer rocks!! \m/

  • Great cover and who's the singer, he's awesome.
