Omg. I can remember going to blackpool every year since i was 1 and going to see this clown was what i looked forward to i loved this clown. It intrested me how when the funhouse burnt down this clown was the only thing that didnt get burnt at all. I heard not long ago that they have replaced this clown? thats actually terrible this clown has been there since 1935! its something that everyone knows of in blackpool!!!!

@bigman1992X Yes! They've put a new head on him - and ruined him in the process. To add insult to injury this hideous new head leans too far over, and looks ready to fall off! Hopefully it will, and they'll have the sense to put the original head back in place. Only then will Blackpool's Lughing Man feel worthy of his laughter!

After fire wrecked The Fun House outside which he had stood The Laughing Man was repositioned the following year outside the Pleasure Beach main entrance. I remember in a TV interview Mr Geoffrey Thomson saying he loved being able to hear it from his office. He would be spinning in his grave if he knew the fate that has now befallen The Laughing Man.

The clown and pleasure beach were immortalised in that old TV series "COASTING" with "Joey" out of Bread (anyone remember that?)Unfortunately, to the best of my knowledge,it's not available on DVD or VHS (probably because the pleasure beach company would demand a huge percentage of the profits)

That's weird....first time i went to blackpool the night after I had been to the pleasure beach I had a dream that i was standing near the clown. I turned away to look at a random poster, and when I turned back all the people had gone, it was just me and the clown laughing his head off. Then as the chair turned, it stopped right in front of me, and he stopped laughing. He stood up and walked through the glass.

When i first went to Blackpool this was at the front gates by noahs arc now they have moved it to beside avalanche. Its soooo creepy last time i went i could have swore down that everytime i turned my head round to look at the clown it was always pointing in my direction laughing as usual! Im sure its haunted most definitely!!

The clown was burnt when a fire burnt down the old Fun House I think. Hes not around anymore I know I live in Blackpool. Thankgoodness that things not there anymore. Locals were sayin that when the firebrigade got there the clown was burnt but its 'voice box' wasnt, so it was still laughing as it went up in flames :0

I went to the PB in about August this year and was lookin for the infamous clown but he was nowhere to be seen. I have heard about the 20p thing to make him laugh but have also heard local rumour that the clown is haunted and laughs at random points even when no money has been paid
