I love how the Doctor draws inspiration from the most random things. That trait seems to have doubled in Eleven. Fish fingers and custard, fezzes and bowties. Somewhere, somehow, he WILL successfully launch those "cool" trends.

@Shaestel Its hard to say. My opinions are firstly he cannot yet face his guilt in the shape of Rose and Donna but also i think its the way he is desperately clinging to life and she tells just what he needs to hear to keep fighting, i.e. fish fingers and custard. He has to survive.

@Shaestel Ah, i see now. Well, when Amy and the Doctor first met she was a child. He landed in her garden and wanted some food. They raided the fridge but the only thing which tasted good to him was fish fingers and custard. It reminds him of her, i guess.

I feel like I have missed something. I can't think of the reference to "I'm going out in the first round! Ringing any bells-AGGHH!" I don't remember an episode in which he mentioned anything like that.

I love this scene, though, it's so sweet and it's good to see Ten's old companions again and know that he does feel for them, even though he has changed. I hope we get to see at least Rose or Martha again, even though I know Donna could not possible return, though, Wilf maybe could.

The TARDIS knew exactly what to say because in 'The Impossible Astronaut' Amy said those words inside the TARDIS when the Doctor asked her to swear on something that mattered. The clever, sexy, TARDIS remembered and slipped those words into the conversation because she knew he needed it!

@Atlantis34110 It's a little odd, prior to 1:50 it is a section of Amy in the Tardis, after 1:50 it swaps over to the start of the Mad Man with a Box OST, removing the voice component.
