I made a bento since the 1st day of this semester and everyday my lunch is basically the same... sushi rice (because it tastes like vinegar and sugar), tamagoyaki (the only thing I feel alright with the taste)... octopus sausages are sometimes changed into bacon... if not... Kimchi or some other Korean side dish is added... or I'd be late for school...

@Deannerzz You should let the food cool off so that it doesn't steam up the other ingredients inside the bento. If you have a lunch box with one of the "cool packs" you could use that to help the food stay fresh, but the food should definitely have cool down time before you actually pack all of it next to each other.

I live in japan, it is a common idea where i live that you dont use fried foods... Also, funny story, our neighbours have a dog and when we first moved there (in Australia atm) we were invited to dinner, so we went. They had a dog, it walked into the kitchen, we heard a yelp, that seemed to happen everywhere we went...

you could also try making the chicken and potato salad the day before and then make the rest right before you assemble the bento. Most bentos are about left overs, makes it easier
