Good idea, I've actually toyed with this design myself and it looks like it works pretty swell. You also would be kept warm just by being off of the ground, because the ground pulls heat from your body.... any fire or additional source of heat would be the icing on the cake. Just be sure to thatch the roof quite thouroughly, you wouldn't want to get rained on. Five stars, man, good work.

If you put the 3 sticks you removed back in place, and just thatch them separately, you'll have a trap door that could swing up to let you in or out.
