The cool thing about watching Buroughs was watching an old man in a gray suit reading all that freaky stuff. None of these youtube videos capture what it was like to see him live. Putting hipster music and graphics on it kind of ruins it.
I can understand your view, but this is taken from an album of tracks like this, it's not a youtube user adding a shite beat.. I think the beat works excellent with the poem and for a lot of people this is their first experience of Burroughs. If it gets them into him, then who are we to complain?
@davevad9 i think all the traxcks of william reading excerpts with the cool bass beats goin on fit his writing perfectly in most cases. it illustrates the flow of his writing. it just shows how perfectly his words go together and how perfectly he speaks them.
he had the most unfathomable kind of intelligence. he is probably my biggest hero, although i dont plan on indulging in heroin.
You can apparently turn off the captioning with the Up arrow button on the extreme right of the bottom of the playback window. select and scroll up and select again and PRESTO!
Karshi, Termez are Southern lands, smart ass! i'm from Karshi, i guess u had quite a fun travelling down there, but u have to be careful near the borders though :) cheers
There is also a second track named the same, featuring Iggy Pop, Techno Animal, and of course Burroughs. I like it more, it's on Hashisheen : The End Of Law.

thanks. is there no option for endusers to turn off the captions themselves?

@iftreedog Now I'm curious about the aforementioned captions. Were they just Burroughs' words? Or some other commentary?
