A tip to you guys who would like to try this effect in one of your own movies.

When you do the effect of the "blood splatter" on the other guys. try to not get to much blood on them. Instead of a bottle full with blood, take a kind of stiff painting-brush and dip in the fake blood and flick it against the object you what the blood to stain. This will give a more realistic effect.

@TheSpiderFilms the tool's name is rotobrush. but it is still much easier and time saver to just use a green screen as the actor will have hair interfering with the rotoscoping. the final result won't be as realistic as the GS one's.

@fotizome The things we pass over quickly are because we have covered that in the show before (usually a few times). So no need to be redundant. If you are a long time Film Riot viewer you should already know how to do it. We are teaching more a method than a button by button how to, which is more beneficial for the view since they are able to learn and still craft their own style, instead of becoming a carbon copy like other tutorials create.

to pop the balloon you could use a blowdart, it is very easy to make a needle ended one out of a hollow pen-tube, a sewing needle, and sticky-labels for envelopes.
