  • thought it was good myself.

  • ok this choir did awsome

  • the girl who sang the last solo was pretty! :), good job guys!

  • The song was written by Randy Stonehill who is from Stockton, California, and has red hair. Where do you get the Caribbean or African American origin?

However, yeah, it was pretty bad.

  • shut up everyone, they are damn good!

  • no ofense, but this is an african spiritual, this has no soul, and obviously judging by the coments, the commentors have all right to say what they said. it was tone def. it had no soul, you looked like you were bored. And if u could keep on tempo maybe you wouldn't have to have some person messing up the song with drumsticks?? thats just my professional input. but please, don't sing that song. like ever, unles you have a completely new choir. With people who know how to sing a spiritual (black)

  • This is disgusting. Sorry. But damn. Ya'll sound too white. More specific, ya'll have no soul.

  • it was ok

  • Heyy i live in oklahoma.lol

this year my 7th and 8th grade choir sang this song for contest and we did WAY bettter than this and we're in 7TH and 8TH GRADE!!!!!! damn

  • You gotta' hand it to them for the naturality of the singing. I've heard several of the high-performance choir productions of this song, and these people pretty much own it, (...for all their casual graces.)

  • that was absolutley horrible

  • the bass de do s and de divils are bad

  • god they are aren't they?

  • amazing!!! please check out my video of me singing ..i am new

  • this a negro spiritual. the intonation is too correct and perfect for this type of song but whatver the conductor wanted goes

  • the men's echo is horrid

  • what the fuck are the wearing!!!

  • I've got a fever and the only prescription is more stick click. (See more cowbell)

  • That was pretty bad.... you need to learn musicality and learn to vary dynamics before you perform this again

  • that was good! thanks for the video. One thing though (that I always say but it's often true), you guys need to SMILE! PLEAASE! Choirs always forget that the way you look (facial) is almost as important as the singing itself as it can also alter the singing! SMILE!

  • that was awesome!!

    people say what they want.

    i enjoyed that.

  • I was surprised to see as many guys as gals

  • the de do and de devil after the tenors should be lower and by basses

  • that blonde girls a good singer but she fucked up in the third verse

  • at the end none of the people made there last "light the candle every things all rii-iigt" high enough or even sang it right

  • ya my choir is doing this song if they have tenors there not high enough

  • The CIA??? Yikes!

  • Wow i was looking on here to see what some of the other choirs sound like cuz im singing this at my school this year and you guys are the best on here! lol

  • lol i would say that it is very surprising they won national large group

  • You know, I don't understand why we're comparing "who did better." Can't we just enjoy what this choir obviously worked hard to present? They did a wonderful job. Congratulations.

  • my schools choir was pretty much 99x better....

  • Yeah, my high school choir has only 9 or 10 people in it, and they did much better....

  • columbine choir is soooo much better thanks to Mr. lee Andres and MR. Marsh

  • I just did the solo in my church and I must say we only have 15 kids and we were better.

  • So childish; why does everyone look so sad? Not good...

  • Gotta watch the "r's"

  • i think the 3rd solo singer is soo hot

  • The second soloist was really schmaltzy and I loved it!!!

But the second soloist was significantly flat!!!

    Eeeeekkkkk!!!

  • boys didnt really have it.

  • the second soloist was the best but sound pretty good

  • i loveee this song!! and wow those soloists are really good

  • wow I LOVE GOd

  • sweet kids- the choir director needs more support it seems. He knows what he is doing obviously. Great job kids and director!!!!

  • OMG, i love this song. we're singing this in our choir. U guys did a good job. Good soloist, too!!!

  • The first soloist did a really good job, but the other two were just okay. Other than that, I thought they all did a wonderful job.

  • I think all three soloists were really good.

  • wow, nice lack of dynamics... this is such a good song and you sang it poorly. Thats a shame.

  • they just need to work on the ranges of the bass. and their vowels some work. they sounded childish, and it is a shame because they could be an awesome chior with better instruction.

  • this is awsome my school is singing it now and this is so insperational thanks btw i'm a bass

  • im sorry this sounded like a jr high choir better luck next time

  • My school did that at their last concert.....an 8th and 9th grade choir! They were better!

  • The basses needed a lot of work. I'm singing this song now as a bass and the "De Do" and "De Devil" parts seemed too high. They sounded almost flat

  • Just sung this song..... oh my gosh... XD We did it more as a group, though.... and we ahd a lot more people....... But overall it was pretty good! ^^;;

  • I think all of you people criticizing need to just shut your pie holes. Just enjoy the song.

These kids are having fun...dont try to ruin it for them by making stupid comments...peace

  • Hey, we are just speaking the truth. Besides you cannot correct your own mistakes unless you or others point them out to you.

  • i agree not very good, especially the basses. singing this song in chorale now, it can be really sweet.

  • Who was the guy soloist?

  • I'm performing this as a bass at the moment.

    These are horrible basses.

The soloists aren't good at all either.

  • Yeah....no. I come from a chamber choir of 22 people. Half of them are tone deaf and we did a hell of a lot better than what I just heard on that video. The basses sound like they haven't hit puberty yet and they're trying to sing low D's. Why are the soloists trying to sound like Brittney effing Spears? It's not a pop song ladies, don't scoop in to your notes. On a total scale of 1-10 that got a -10. Sorry but somebody has to tell you the truth.

  • I agree.

    This choir was horrible.

    Basses are really crappy.

  • basses were PAINFUL. I'm performing this as a bass now, and my ears hurt listening to those crappy basses. That shouldnt have won shit lol my choir owns that choirs ass, I would hate to listen to the other entries

  • ... Ive sung this song a million times, And listening to this version of it... makes me glad we dont do it acapella...

  • don't be that mean, try 2 encourage them

  • This was awesome... but your basses were AWFUL >_<

This coming from a bass who performed this.

  • get some new basses lol cant belive this won anything

  • this is just bad..the soloists are like tone def other than the first one.

  • h t t p : / / s o o . i n / 9 9 6 4 /

The only problem was that we went faster since our principal was gonan cut it form the program whatever. You guys suck Its suppose to sound jhamaican not white -_- Middle schools did better then you guys.

  • its He's hungry for a soul to hurt not he's looking for a soul to hurt. Bases sucked. And I think it sounds better with the solo at the end

  • i heard leslie middle school sing this sorry but they did better

  • I love love love LOVE this song!!!! We're the Valley High School Advance Women Choir and we're singing this on April 27, 2007 over in LA, hope we're as good as you gys YOU GUYS ROCKS!!!!!!!!

  • the video i posted is my choir singing

  • i like this song, i sang it back in 8th grade. Just one thing, when the guys say "de do" and "de devil" we did it so that the basses hit that low E, it sounded awesome like that

  • i like this song. i sang it too, 1 or 2 years ago, but also in an other way. but i like how you sing it

  • ehhh it's okay, but i've heard much better... this is a jamaican song (or so you say? i usually thought a lil more african) and you basically have no dialect... if your gonna sing an african song, sing it like you're african =P give some cred to it's roots, even if you all are (like me) pasty white, hahaha

  • Not bad. I think the dialect could be better, as it's not supposed to be such a pop song, but it was very good!

  • its okay..

    we did better

    the guys suck! lol

  • the guy who sang the solo has a great voice! wish u guys woulda done the girls solo at the end - it's cool. good job tho!

  • sang this song in 6th grade we did ours a lot differently

  • 2/5

  • I give this a 4/5. I sang this song in 8th grade. And it was much different than the way you guys did it. So I guess I'm just clinging to my style. Buy you guys did a great job.

  • CIA...what an awesome name.
