  • Great playing! A little like Eric Johnson in a way.

  • You have a wonderful sense of melody!

  • @emosucks89 Thanks!

  • thats some mighty fine pickin on that gee-tar ... I just bought one of these myself.. i think im going to enjoy it a lot..

  • I only use carvin seven strings and I do have them with floyd and never had any problems with it and I use it a lot. It could be that I always change the bar for a real floyd one. Its much beefier and tighter inside the shell where it goes screwed. I feel that they bring are a bit skinny and it wobles inside that shelf a bit.

  • awesome

  • i personally don't like the floyd roses on these carvins i think they're much better as hard tails

  • @brandon5pennies I agree totally... The wilkinsons feel so much better. I'll have to really think about it when I order a six string.

  • is the floyd rose ORIGINAL or LICENSED ??

  • LIcensed. It is the weakest part of the guitar IMO.

  • does it stay in tune? if it´s well set up then it doesn´t matter if it´s original or licenced. thanks for replying :)

  • Without the sperzel locking tuners it does detune when used heavily. The feel of it is not as precise as a floating style tremolo. Still, the guitar is by far exceeded what I was looking to buy a 7 string and tried everything on the market.

  • I didn't mean that it being licensed or an original floyd rose made a difference. The design is identical. I was referring to the feel of the tremolo.

  • nice tone

  • How's the Carvin DC 727 neck? Fat and chunky like Schecter 7-string necks or thin and fast?

  • Its fat and fast. Kinda like Fender necks. Plus it being a 7 string it is even fatter than most. My Ibanez RG570 feels so flimsy next to this.

  • with a floyd

  • I'm hoping to purchase a Carvin 7-string guitar in the near future... but i cant decide.... floyd rose or no floyd rose? Help please?

  • i just got a dc727 with the floyd rose. its amazing how well it stays in tune. also you don't need that fugly locking nut because it has locking tuners.

  • Not trying to either show off or "make music". This was just me picking up the guitar and jamming a bit. Hard to believe a lot of people don't do that more often.

  • Dont worry dude. I do the same thing a lot too when Im praticing. I just a whole lot of things just trying to practice licks, riffs, sweeps with a backtrack and just throwing different ranges in different various modes and scales. It's not like you were really trying to copy a song or anything. I do that a lot too just to memorize the keys in the fretboard to know exactly where they're located when a particular chord is or what major it is in a scale.

  • sounds like music to me. nice tone and playing.

  • I got a schecter c-7 hellraiser... it's awesome! I was a bit worried going from an Ibanez 6 string neck to a schecter 7 string neck, but I actually like the thicker neck for some reason. It feels more natural or something... Your tone is sweet btw. very nice!

  • sweet

  • I have the DC127 (lefty) and I love it. Carvin makes custom guitars for about 1/2 the price. Mine was shipped $1080. I bought a prewired pickguard (Carvin) and it sounds amazing on my parts guitar!.

  • this guitar is beautiful. There are about 3 7strings I just love. Carvin dc727 or 747, Ibanez Rg 1527 nad the schecter 7strings

  • why have you put "wank" in the tags?

  • You'd be surprised how many people search guitar videos by "wank"

  • man...... you fuckin make me hate myself.. i guess im gonna have to sell my guitar on ebay. :<

  • I like your playing a ton, but my only complaint is that it sounds like Steve Vai way too much for me.

  • Thanks! That is one heck of a compliment.

  • Haha, true. Nice playing. Very emotional.

  • I definitely see the Vai influence! I felt it even before reading this comment.

It's very rare to see a good improvisation that isn't played behind a backing track. You're an excellent player. And that's a beautiful guitar!

  • lol did you even use the 7th string at all? nice vid 5 stars

  • absolutly stunning sound...how does the playibilty of the fretboard compare to say..an ibanez?

  • Ibanez necks are a lot thinner and the tone on the carvin is a lot warmer.

  • The Carvin is my main guitar. I use it for everything except for crazy tunings which I either use my Ibanez RG570, my Moon lightfield, or my olp MM1.

  • What are its specs? I have been thinking about getting one like it.

  • You are amazing but can I ask you why you use a 7 string for that solo?

  • mby he didnt care to remove the 7th string to play the solo ? :P

  • why is "wank" one of the tags?

  • I thought wank was a common guitar jam term.

  • It sure is. :)

  • yup definetely!

  • My God that was beautiful! I love near the end when you were going crazy with the whammy bar, keep it up man.

  • great job man

    that was awesome!

  • Hey man. Great job. If you don't mind, I have a couple questions for you. To start off, how are these pickups with pinch harmonics, how do you rate it for a 7-string, and is the neck nice? Anything comparable to a Jackson, or Ibanez neck?

  • Thanks man!

THe pickups are great all around. I would suggest going with active ones though. They have a bit more bite. The neck is amazing. Its more like a Fender neck, fat but smooth. It is worth every penny.

  • Thanks. I appreciate it. How much was yours if you don't mind telling me?

  • $1400 USD

  • is the neck thin or thick? fucking love it!

  • thick!! But super smooth and very fast!

  • ok! and the 24'th fret is easy to touch?

  • yes it is!

  • that was so ill

  • im counting down the days for my dc727... sounding great man

  • how do you like the guitar? im debating a carvin 7, a petrucci 7, or a universe? any tips for me?

  • I think the carvin is the best bang for the buck. I played the universe and the petrucci prior to ordering the carvin and although they are amazing guitars, the carvin blew them away - and it was cheaper.

  • I'm almost definitely getting one. Not to sound cliche, but would it be good for metal? I've just heard polarized things about the pickups - people either love them or think they are weak.

  • Absolutely.... Check out my other vids and you tell me if you think the pickups sound weak. The only thing different on my next order will be active pickups for rhythm. I love the passive sound for lead and the tight, bright crunchiness you can get with active electronics is perfect.

  • Thanks for your comments on the Carvin. I have a UV777 and its a very nice guitar but I thought I wanted something to my specs that was still quality. I have a specific question in regards to your tone; what are you using here? Very Eric Johnsonish.

  • i was wondering that too, i really want that tone on my guitar. Sounds more like Greg Howe to me though

  • as far as playing emotionally, thats great!

way to use the modes to portray emotions

  • Not bad man, keep it up!

  • well done man, awesome tone

  • Dude that was sweet!!! And as for the tone...I love it!!! I have the Zoom G9.2TT as well and its amazing!!

  • Hi , great playing & guitar . I had a serious question,i think seriously purchase a Carvin guitar ( DC727 ) & i don"t how is the roundback of neck . It"s like Ibanez,Jackson,Gibson.....round or flat , thick or ..... Please , i need of your comment

  • the carvin is definitly thicker than the ibanez. I got a ibanez universe 7-string, and my friend got a carvin 727, so Ive tried both. I love the carvin though, the look of it just kills the ibanez :P

  • I have a UV777 and its the best 7-string I have played but I just ordered a sapphire blue flame DC727 with a birdseye maple fretboard and floyd on it and can't wait. :-)

  • I just ordered a DC747 =)

  • Wow, that was beautiful! What amp are you running through? Carvins are the best!

  • 3 things:

    1. I'm definately getting one of those now!

    2. You're a fantastic player!

    3. What are you using for your tone?

  • Thanks!

    I am using a Zoom G9.2TT now.

  • very nice playing, u r awesome

  • Nice pLaying

I just got my Dc727C last month , killer guitars!

  • Very nice!!! Almost the same as my dc727. Except you're a much more talented player than I. Keep it up

  • What is your pedals setup? IT soudns just great! Kudos!!

  • Thanks! Zoom G9.2tt

  • great sound man!

  • Nice guitar! damn...

  • nice tone :)

  • Thanks dude

  • Dude, I have a DC727 coming in a week...you just made me 100 times anqious to get it. The guitar sounds brilliant as well as your playing.

  • Thanks! The guitar is definitely well worth the wait!!!

  • nice man

  • that was actually fucking brilliant.

  • Thanks!

  • mice job man.

sounds to me like you like eric johnson.

  • Thanks... I do like Eric Johnson although he isn't a main influence of mine.

  • amazing phrasing. i love how near the end you took a while to resolve but it was so nice how it was done. your playing style reminds me a lot of how i play.

  • Thanks googoo!

  • Beautiful tone. And the guitar is beautiful, too.

  • Nice playing and tone was great! I don't know can I get as good tone out of my custom Jackson :/

  • wow that was really good, love the tone.

  • Thanks!!!

  • Hey i got a Gibson les paul...and i kinda wanna get a guitar with a wammy bar.. and i hear Carvins are good...But are they betetr then Legendary Gibson?

  • Depends on taste. I don't like to play Gibsons, the feel isn't right for me even though they are amazing guitars.

  • Man, you make me want to get an electric guitar.

  • well done mate. i like the way you play.

  • I just recently got my carvin and this video makes me proud to be an owner

  • Nice!

  • I wish more people would play like this!!! Obviosly you have great taste in guitars ;)

    Aren't Carvins great?

  • Yep. Plan on getting a DC127 soon. Think they'll do a pointy headstock for me?

  • check yer email Narsh

    :)

  • .

hey Narsh - now this more than rocks - imo - great contrasts between fast & slow

    :)

  • Thanks Nick - I need to figure out a way to get better quality on the vids though...
