So Mckellen is out? i mean i thought he was ok for the role of magneto,but he wasn't really all that great to me either. i really don't think he was too old for the role,but he definitely should've tried acting a little tougher.

McKellen, although I am a fan of his, was wrong for Magneto. I'm sorry but he was just too damn old. And they didnt use him very well at all in the films anyway. I mean he literally didnt do anything in the last 2 films but smash a couple cars and move a bridge. Not exactly the bad ass Magento that fans enjoy. He literally became an old man with a goofy helmet by then end of X-Men 3. They moved him aside, along with the X-Men in order to make the films all about Wolverine. Very sad.

It's been cancelled. Iam McKellan himself said he no longer thinks he can do it, so if they did make it, they'd have to replace him. Which, frankly, if they can't have Ian McKellen as Magneto, they shouldn't bother to try.

I've read plenty comics with Magneto, and I still think he makes an excellent Magneto. His portrayal is a little different, but not intolerably so. Also, in the time since the movies came out, I've noticed more and more authors have started basing Magneto more on McKellan's interpretation.
