Nah first week of the tournament was kinda boring, without great macthes, in fact only the last weekend was the best moment (3 matches). For me the best AO was 2005 by faaar. Nalbandian vs Hewitt, Federer vs Safin, Blake vs Hewitt, Gaudio vs Santoro, etc.

I don't even play tennis but I love it so much omg... this has been an amazing two weeks! I'm really sad that it's over, it was SO GOOD! And that final was incredible... I would have loved for Rafa to win, but Djokovic really was fantastic. Better luck next time Rafa :D xxx

As far as any Aussie Opens go - anything without Federer is simply "great and awesome". Now that Nadal and Djokovic have outclassed Federer - and Federer has deteriorated because of his age....

Aussie Opens won't have that magic flare that Federer brought

IMO either 2008-2009 was the best Aussie open

And Federer should fucking retire - anything short of "absolutely legendary" is an insult to him

@cssftw100 Don't agree. Federer is still in the top 3 and is giving many players a chance to compete against him. It raises their level of play and gives and opportunity to beat a legend. It doesn't matter what happens now, because his titles and slams have been accomplished. No one is going to beat that. You need to let go. After Pete, Andre and others, American fans missed out on Roger cuz they had an attitude like yours. Tennis is bigger than one guy.

@biozamadotcom you mentioned Andre, I'm only 17, and I know he was once #1 - but was he a great? Because just b4 he retired, I remember him to be a #8 and a fairly avg tennis player. This is what retiring tooo late does to the next generation.

I would want at least the next 3generations to know of Roger'sgreatness - similar to Rod Laver, see Sampras nor Andre are on Laver's class - but you and I both know that at the peak of Federer's career - he was the best to have ever existed

@cssftw100 But if you think Roger is absolutely legendary (which he is) why would you want him to retire? I want him and need him to keep playing Tennis for as long as it makes him happy. He has done so much for the sport, he has made his permanent mark in history. It is an absolute honour to be a Tennis fan in a time when we get to witness him play, why would you want this time to end? He is not deteriorating, the others have just stepped it up to a whole new level.

@FionaCullen7 I say he WAS legendary, precisely around 05-09 - and YES he has done heaps for the sport but people age - and people deteriorate...I'm 17 and I had no idea Agassi was a legend, I remember him being #8 - nothing compared to the greats (nadal/federer) - agassi retired too late, after he had entered the realm of mediocrity.

and I don't want federer to be like that - he should be on the same legendayry status of rod laver and john mcenroe
