The choir aah's are the "Pop Aah's" found in the emulator II sound banks. It is exactly like the one in this video and the one in the original song. I have the whole emulator ii bank. If you want just this patch, email me and I'll give it to you.
big dogs balls classic luv the 80s seen this before and neva tire of listening to your work bro qual ittyyyyyy top man keep em posted MMc ; ) ........
O' your another Rick Wakeman.........not.......anybody with 6 months experience can play what your doing......A real good keys player would have never had thin skin as yourself...if you put yourself out for commit, man up and take the punishment. Name calling is what little boys do.
@botex1000 - Your an idiot. Do seriously believe that one man can play the entire piece by himself live with out looping or a back track? I don't know about you but I only have two arms....
Great job DX5! But to me what makes the original song realy powerful is the fast deep base that Alan plays on Emulator II with his left hand. I have never seen anyone in their videos succesfuly reproduce this. Does anybody have an idea how to go about this sound? As I watched Alan to play this, it seems everytime he hits the key the timbre is different. (see e.g. video of Enjoy The Silence played at Sanremo Festival 1990)
Luv Depeche Mode. saw them play this live in Berlin 1990 violator tour when i was posted there in the british army. Alan wilder was the wizard then. This is so bloody awesome ! Saw kraftwerk play live that same year back in Manchester England. use to lightly dable with the keyboards myself back in them days had a Roland D10 and a ensoniq working off a Atari st ! pretty prim to this stuff. Great to see somebody keeping these great 80s tunes alive. Be nice to see a Eurythmics cover Sweet dreams ?
I actually liked this version so much, I converted the file here to an mp3 and put it on my player. When I have rolled up to stoplights, people ask where can they get this version!! They love the choir sounds from the synth! Great job!!
@Keybern Well, truely analog... in fact it has DCOs. Filters are not the best we've seen from Roland. JP8000 tries to go a step forward from the greatest of all Rolands, the JP8.
@Babyblue57 Only by name the JP8000 is comparable with the JP8. It's a marketing trick. The JP8000 is a great synth, like the JP8 was in the time. But there's no real technological link between the two.
I could NEVER grow tired of this song!! All you Depeche Mode fans out there know the feeling. This always had a sort of haunting, ere, mysterious sound which seems to take me to another realm in life(especially seeing the original video shot atop W.T.C #2 for the 20th anniversary of the buildings oddly enough some 11 years before they were destroyed. It hits me so hard in a good way I love Depeche Mode! peace:)

The bass line...303 rubbery ;) Acid bass on 16th & the filter open on random sh101 ;) Use the revolving chords on the bass line;)

Jp8000 or JX8p? Which one you prefer?
Babyblue57 1 year ago
@Babyblue57 He doesn't have to prefer one above the other, he has both ;-)
JX8P is true analog and therefor sounds more quickly "fat".
The JP8000 on the other hand has a great hands-on interface and probably more modulation options.

@Keybern Well, truely analog... in fact it has DCOs. Filters are not the best we've seen from Roland. JP8000 tries to go a step forward from the greatest of all Rolands, the JP8.
