The aquafin will remove the chlorine and heavy metals fairly quickly. The company says within seconds, but I would stir the water and give it several minutes at least. However, you shouldn't add the new water to the aquarium until it is the same temperature as the aquarium water. If you ran cold tap water and treated it, you may need to give it time to come back up to room temperature.
is it safe for turtles??

if it says 10ml every 8 gallons it says on the bottle, how much do you put in on a part water change that might be only 2 or 3 gallons?
surely i would not need to put enough aqua plus for all the tank if the aqua plus was used 1 week ago the last water change?

Hello. Are you sure there's no need to wait for at least 24 hours before adding the new water+aqua plus inside a established fish tank?

you only do a water change once a week, not every 24 hours
