Nothing at all wrong with the Cure, just that they often attract annoying pseudo-goths who also sometimes hover around Depeche Mode.

As for Dave's solo career, I don't see how that's relevant? No Vince=No DM; he started it and he did all the work and wrote most of the song that made them a hit and even hired Dave. Gore and Fletcher were even still holding jobs at the time because they still weren't serious about it.

My comment about Dave was from the perspective that sometimes "front men" are the reason why bands are successful - be it looks, voice or performance. There have been some great songs go largely unheard because their front man didn't have the persona to grab attention. Sad but true. And I don't mean mass polularity to sell, just something that hooks music lovers.

i think DM is the best band that the Humanity gave. I was born in 1982 but since i was 10 i listen to them. Older guys were writting on the school desk DEPECHE MODE DEPECHE MODE and i asked one of them to give me a cassette (in 1992 was usual). Since than i listen to them and enjoy the beauty of their songs. I enjoy the silence. Now the lads are getting older but they still look to me as in the 80's. Great time back there.
