  • brilliant work! thank you for motivating me to try out pigments. gotta admit, your vids get played more than others, again well done

  • can you use rubbing alcohol to fix the pigments?

  • @xwolf316 yes you can :)

  • Is there a way to leave the pigment looking dry and sooty for something like exhaust ports or if you use the setting solution will it still look sooty and dry depending on how you apply it?

  • @lionfiretx well mate the pigment fixer leaves a mat finish i know i said it has a slight sheen to it but it depends on how heavy you apply it but you dont need to worry about the final effect mate ;)

  • @BlacksunArtstudio Sounds good. I'll play around with it like everything else. Cheers.

  • Thank you for your Tutorial. That little extra effort did help. I did that with artiest chalks and did my weathering that way. I like how you put your own spin to it. Thank you for all your hard work. Keep it Kool and Real Peace!

  • Very nicely done. I was wondering how long a thing of pigments last you?

  • Looking good mate, can you let me know where you get them from?

Can you put list of ones you use in the description? Or send me a list of ones you have and use alot?

Did you have something on the base before you put the pigmint on, couldn't quite tell?

  • Top notch tutorial buddy. Just what I need right now as well. I'm just about to delve into the world of pigments myself, courtesy of OrcPainterNerd.

  • question. I've never understood the whole pigments over paint thing. Why would you use pigments instead of just using paint?

PS the base turned out magnifico!

  • @MoreDakka101 well its maby a personal thing mate to be honest i use paints and pigments but for my 40k chaos army i wont a realistic look to the models and there bases and pigments create more of a realistic finished effect then paints and they can be mixed with other mediums to create all sorts of effects other than paint :) thanks man

  • Excellent job on the base! Mig has a wonderful product.

  • Where have you been all my life? Awesome stuff!

  • The fluff is nice to hear, i really like bases that demonstrate a narrative. Thanks for sharing this technique.

  • Great tutoriol bro. The pigments really give a realistic finish.

  • your vids and techniques are a great inspiration.

  • Great vid matey!

  • Quality video mate :)

    ~Ghost

  • Great tutorial. By the way, have you seen the Secret Weapon pigments? They offer a larger line that the MIG brand and at about half the cost.

  • @mitchellcipriano i have seen the secretweapon one but false of habit i suppose i know MIG productions stuff very well so its kinda what i use and i can get them very easy but i do like secret weapon stuff

  • ohhh the supremacy of chaos...

I love the smell of blight drones in the morning

  • @Nusphigore me to man ;)

  • Very nice dude!

  • Have u tried applying the fixer by airbrush?? waiting on my set of MIG's....

  • @TheNocturnalStudios well you can apply them with an airbrush but to bbe honest mate the air pressure will blow most of your pigments of your project

  • @TheNocturnalStudios well you can apply them with an airbrush but to bbe honest mate the air pressure will blow most of your pigments of your project

  • I have question my friend regarding the mig pigment fixer. dose the the fixer chage the look of the pigments at all?. Thinking along the lines of getting rid of the dry matt look. I am willing to pay the high cost if the result is as good isopropyl with the added benifit of fixing it?

  • @OrcPainterNerd the pigment fixer doesnt change the colour mate but it slightly tones down the over all shade but its barely noticeable trust me ;) but i am a firm believer of good quailty products man and i also dont mind spending high to get what i wont and need so its compleatly up to u i personally love MIG production products and i have most of there range but maby its a personal thing but i love them :)

  • Great video, I might have to look into getting some pigments now.

  • dude they look awsum i really think they look cool :)

  • Pigments rule. I so have to pick me up set. Great stuff again man! :)

  • Running with a ghetto budget, but really likie the effects of the pigments...found a set of artist chalks, I had picked up in a garage sale a while back...think I'll scrape some powder off and have a try with it....great tutorial on the use of weathering....Jim.

  • @Jedijim252 hey jim thanks man i also use chalk ground up in an old pestle and morter which works nice love to see the results of your pigments man cheeres lyden

  • Wow very interesting look! How much pigment do you end up using per base?

I ground up some coloured chalks yesterday and used to weather my marine. My only real difficulty was the lack of specifically toned colours and the fact that I was using a long bristled brush to apply. LOL. Need a shorty!

  • @asjarra well surpprisingly not as much as you think because the levle of pigment is so high it colours what ever you apply it to very well and concidering these bases are textured they hold very well so you dont use a lot mate and on the coloured chalk situation i also have my own ground up and mixed to certain tones so i have my own incase there arent any i can buy but its a good way to do it man :)

  • really like the base with the guys reaching up,,, will be a wicked base,,,

  • @vanhammer73 thanks van mate i like him to ;)

  • awesome as usual ;)
